Who we are

My brother and I are both looking for a PVE guild to join who’s going to be focused on raiding when it comes out. We were both Mythic raiders in WoW and have years of experience raiding in WoW. Our guild recently went on a raiding hiatus until the next expansion because of recruitment issues. Timing was pretty good though because I heard GW2 announced raids around the same time. We are both high performance players and push ourselves to always find ways to play better.

What we are looking for

We’re looking for a guild who’s very serious about raid progression. I’m not talking about “world first play for 12 hours a day until content is dead” serious but more of the type that raids for a few hours a few times a week but during that time they are focused purely on progression. A guild where everyone generally shows up on time and we start pulling on time and we essentially don’t stop till the end of raid time. People who don’t have a problem adapting their builds and play style to make sure we are successful.

We kind of want to avoid mega guilds (with hundreds of active players) as they feel like getting lost in a crowd but aren’t entirely opposed to it as long as the community feels right.

You mentioned that you’re primarily here because your WoW guild is on a hiatus until the expansion. Does that in turn mean you’re around GW2 until the WoW expansion comes out? I don’t mean to be rude, but I’m not going to fill up 2 of my raid slots with temporary raiders.

Assuming I’m wrong, Synergy, the guild I’m recruiting for, has multiple raid teams with positions open (including additional raid leaders for additional teams) and we are definitely pushing for hard progression. I raided very hardcore in World of Warcraft (I was in a top 25 US guild up until Cata, we can talk more about that in TS / in game if interested) and intend to bring my raid leading prowess to this game. That being said, I am fully committed to GW2 raiding, and do not intend to go back to WoW with the expansion.

It’s all pretty unknown. I’m not going to promise we won’t return to WoW because there’s no way to tell for sure. I will say that there’s no way the expansion is going to hit within the next 6 months and that’s a lot of time. I’ve been raiding for a while and I know that there’s rarely a static raid group for 6 months in any game.

That being said it depends on how the content pans out. If HoT does a decent job on raids (I played the first encounter on the BWE and I enjoyed it) then I’ll have no reason to switch back to WoW as raiding was essentially the only reason I played WoW. If raid content flops it’s unlikely you’ll be that worried about just two raid spots.

If that’s a problem, so be it. If not then it sounds like we might be a good fit.

Wouldn’t expect you to promise that of course, and that answer is what I wanted to hear. Just wanted to see where your head was at.

You could also likely find Aeromu.9134 in game now, as he works from home. He is the guild leader and will be co-leading Raid Team 1 with myself, so he can answer any questions as well (if not better than I can).
