Greetings! After a several month hiatus, our guild is reforming on Northern Shiverpeaks. If you are interested in a dedicated WvW guild with a strong community, read up the following post! If you are interested in joining the guild, you can apply here. Feel free to send me a pm on enjin or in game at logs.1493 with any questions. You can also contact vluhdalt.2715, our GM.
About Us:
Roll Initiative is a tight-knit performance focused community currently focusing on “blob busting” as well as fighting even numbered groups in WvW. We consider ourselves “semi hardcore” in that we have required builds, and we critique personal performance, but we also understand that real life always comes first. Our players are active in most timezones (NA, late NA, OCX, SEA), and our raids typically span from NA to early OCX. As a community, our core has been playing together for more than two years, and we have developed a close, friendly culture in that time. As a new member, you should never feel like you’re just a chess piece for the leadership as we try and get people engaged in the community right from the start.
Guild History:
Roll Initiative was founded in October of 2014, though our history extends much further back. Our core community was formed by the merge of the guild [DR] – Dragonriders with several members of [LOST] Shiverpeaks Search and Rescue (which some here may remember). After playing together as part of [dr] for some time, a decision was made among the PvP core of Dragonriders to form a new guild entirely. Thus Roll Initiative was born. We played on Blackgate between November 2014 and May 2015, eventually transferring to Magumma. Shortly after this we decided to take a break from the game until the Heart of Thorns expansion had a release date. Due to certain changes in the culture of T3 (the GvG guild flood), we decided to move down to T4 and chose NSP as our home.
What is “Semi-Hardcore”:
Essentially, this means that every member of the guild is expected to do the following:
- Participate in Guild Raids when able to (if you are online during a raid time, no excuses needed for RL obligations)
- Accept constructive criticism. We critique our members in order to perform as well as we can, a member must understand that these are not meant as personal insults, merely to improve our overal play. We will NOT remove someone from the guild for “bad play” as long as they show they are willing to improve and will listen to advice and suggestions
- Bring your focus to all raids. When we’re in combat, bear down and listen to the driver.
- Play builds that correspond to our specific needs and be willing to work for the appropriate gear and consumables
- Participate in the community! We are all a friendly bunch, even that kitten Chuck.
- Respect other members and abide by our guild rules (ie. no racism)
This may all sound pretty intense, so I would like to add a disclaimer. Outside of actual raid combat we are all very laid back, and many members will go out of their way to help you with various things (whether they are game/guild related or really anything in general).
Our Drivers:
Zedez Angelfire:
The master tactician and former driver of [DR], driving regularly in Guild Wars for the first time since Fall 2013. Stay tight on Zed, and you’ll find yourself magically missing all of the enemies damage even though it feels like you’re running through the maelstrom. Zed will be driving for the NA timezone Here is a sample of what we were able to do following Zedez in [DR].
Saber:
The main driver for RNG since its inauguration, Saber is that kind of driver that gets our opponents to label us as having 3X as many people as we actually run with. Saber is our NA PST and early OCX guru. A sample of Sabers style is below.
IF YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED IN JOINING RNG, WE WILL HAVE WEEKLY OPEN RAIDS THAT ANYONE IS WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE IN
