Guild Wars 2

So, I like others you probably have seen around, bought this game on sale. Played the original Guild Wars very casually with my cousin and can’t remember a lick of it now, funny enough.

I came here to introduce myself and build some contact with the community. I’m excited about this game and can’t wait to dive in, when I have the time that is. I decided to give Guild Wars 2 a try because I was looking for a casual MMO without a fee and the current F2P market didn’t do it for me. I always feel like I never quite get my money out of sub fees between work, other games, and sleep.

I was hoping to get in touch with some casual adventures to chat with and have some laughs. In the past most of the guilds I’ve been a member of seemed like a different chat channel to me. We were never “hardcore” raiding, and you did what you pleased, it was a game, not a job. You could chat and have a laugh while questing or grinding. It became a stop for LFG before pubbing. All of them full of nice people that just did spontaneous things together, but never got too serious.

I was hoping to bring that back a little bit. This being my first MMO since WoW (slight foray into SWTOR, nothing serious). I decided on Tarnished Coast because I heard some nice things about the server. “Unofficial RP” and “Good communication between players” comes to mind. It seemed like a nice place to settle in. Never done anything besides grind my butt off in an MMO, time for a change. I just want to have some fun this time around. I’m out of college and have a job now, no sense in making this more work.

Hiya Breidr. Your reasons for choosing TC are pretty much the same as mine. I took a chance on the server because of the “unofficial RP” and the hope of a great community, and I haven’t been disappointed. Your desire for a fun, friendly, laid-back guild makes me think Ember Solace would be a good fit for you. We’re a PvX guild on TC, with about 60-ish members who all really care about each other and enjoy just hanging out and having fun.

While we have scheduled events every week, no one is required to attend, and we have plenty of spur-of-the-moment events, too. I think our biggest strength is our desire to help one another. We even have a Newbie Officer, Saibel, who puts together fun events for new players and low-level characters. Our Social Coordinator, Kaz, hosts screenshot contests and Guess the Number contests, and our PvE Officer, MangoSprode, runs dungeons, Fractals, and gathering events. And our PvP Officer, Erik, is actually just about to start a PvP Tournament called The Gauntlet.
