As you all know Piken square is 1 of the unique servers that mainly focused on being a strict WvWvW community coming from EU. Despite how most of the other server player, Piken square is different allowing each and every player group or guild its own independance and freedom. Famous and known guilds from GW2 EU zone all come from Piken Square. The concept of not Blobbing/zerging still is part of Piken theory and ideology. So if there are any guilds. WvWvW focus coming from Thailand, singapore, Malaysia, China , Japan, Australia and even NA who could help us with our morning times we will be willing to welcome you to our community.

Right now, Piken Squae recruitment for EU zones is closed as we have terrible qeue issues that itself need resolving.

Indeed the game belongs to anet and they made it like this that anyone who purchased this game has the right to be any where. But why join a server for some specific time period when you wont get to play and will spoil the game for others? Thus, the mentioning that EU prime time is FULL and we are not looking forward to recruitng any EU prime time Guilds

If you are referring to Blobs that do WvWvW during off peak, where friendlies gather behind friendly commander, thn that is not blobbing since that is the kind of game mechanics followed by every other server during off peak. Every prime time guild prefers to run alone during prime time. be it team of 5 guys or be it team of 30-40 guys. You may call it Guild blob but that is still not blobbing considering enemy has 40 inside the keep/tower. If you are to say you were ran over by 40 man blob of randoms during EU prime time… thn you probably havent faced Piken properly. cause be it piken or SFR or any other organised community with decent number of active wvwvw guilds. They prefer running seprate. For Example zBs OSC SPRT from SFR. GD from Elona and Mya, DsD, Dsun, Xt, GoW and etc etc from Piken. And yes every server combines forces when they have some objectiive necessary to meet. For example defending garrison or any ther t3 tower/keep. I believe its time we stop calling anything that kills us a BLOB. Cause Piken is so over that excuse and we wish to evolve to state where no matter how out numbered we are we want to fight masses with what we have. I believe this is something that every Guild within t1 and t2 understands now.

Interesting reading. Started playing W v W on Piken Square and zergs/blobbing was as common as the server I am on now. The again it was about 7 months ago so guess things may have changed in that time.

We do not have any NA Guilds on piken as yet. You will not have to do PvD against most of the servers piken is likely to face in golden league. The servers picked out for Golden league in EU almost all have decent early morning and some have big coverage. Thus the reason why Piken is Looking for SEA and NA Guilds to cover for the missing time as That particular time is piken’s weakest.

Bear with me, I’m writing a short novel, but I figured if you asked, others might be curious too, so trying to encompass all.

Most servers from rank 1 to about 12 or so can hold up pretty well against each other and offer decent fights during EU prime (about 2pm EST to 9pm EST). That’s when the bulk of the numbers come out and when things get the most “zergy”. (I took a peek at your posting history and have seen you’ve played both sides of the pond, so you at least have some idea). If you look at the MOS this becomes more clear as you see the difference in ratings between one server to another is minimal, compared to NA — which is also the reason you get some pretty exciting matches and servers change ranking pretty constantly.

During NA prime, starting let’s say 7pm EST, there is overlap a bit from EU prime into NA EST. Piken players start to head to bed typically around 9pm EST, but we have recently gained a few late hour guilds that help push our competitiveness past that hour. You will typically start your evening on Piken with some well coordinated guild pushes, along with a fairly large “friendlies” force. At about 11pm-midnight the Russian forces start to log into the various EU servers, including Piken, and start their pushes. (This is perfect for PST-based NA guilds btw). You will seldom have a PV-door situation as compared to what you’d get in NA. The whole PV-door thing is largely a myth. (As is latency btw, I’m in East Coast NA and hardly ever have lag issues, and some oceanic friends have actually told me the ping is better EU side than they experienced in NA).

Yes there’s a distinct difference in the actual number of bodies on the map compared to EU prime time, but there are guild groups to fight and also coordinated guilds on Piken to join. At the moment there is no one dedicated NA guild on Piken. But there are guilds that run numerous timezones. What it basically means is that instead of fighting massive skill-lagging 100 man blobs on a map during EU prime, you’ll be facing 50 man blobs and actually be able to press a skill beyond spamming 1. And you won’t be alone during that time either.

Of course there will be easier matches where the action isn’t quite as intense, but you’d get the same thing on any Gold League NA matches. In fact, I’d wager the pv-door factor during the leagues will be worse for some NA servers, particularly your current one. It’s only fun to steamroll another server for so long before it gets incredibly boring, and the leagues are going to be some seven painful weeks for some stacked servers in NA.

The good thing about EU is that aside from one or two servers, there’s none of this massive tier population difference that you see in NA tiers. T2 and T6 can reasonably spar with each other, offering competitive fights during the whole match. You can’t say that in NA with the massive population disparity between tiers. Another bonus: EU players don’t suddenly throw in the towel if pitted against a server with a higher population — in fact, some of the best matches I’ve been in have been with servers with lower population who are coming out fists swinging and proving their strength.

English is the language spoken on map and server-wide TS. People communicate, guilds are allowed to go do their own projects and pushes independent of the rest of map, and there’s a newly solid force of defensively minded folks who are helping maintain our maps and structures. Piken’s reputation is grounded in guilds and their skilled playerbase. A daytime “friendly” zerg is markedly more skilled because typically it’s comprised of trained and experienced guilded players out in map before their raid starts. It is known as a tough server. The server is full to the brim with EU guilds and players though, so while it wants to be a welcoming spot for any tough and serious WvW guild to transfer to, adding to the EU prime numbers will only create more queue times and frustration, for your guild and everyone else. In EU a queue time of more than one hour is a travesty — mostly because people are there to play, not stack to win. It’s one thing I found so refreshing — it’s all about the fights and the play, not the trophy, so they covet their queue times zealously.

Piken basically needs two NA prime guilds, with about 15-30 active WvW players each, and maybe maybe two Sea guilds to give SFR and Vizunah a run for its money. The rest of the time? We’re a force to be reckoned with

And it’s very likely Piken’s NA server time population (or early morning hours) will dip to medium and let you transfer for free — watch for it.

With the leagues starting this coming friday, now’s the time to make that leap and surprise everyone by taking Piken from second/third place to steal first. It’s not outside the realm of possibilities. Especially for Piken.

Being in the oceanic time zone you can end up in NA & EU prime times – especially during the weekend as well as covering part of the SEA time zone plus being able to cover the hours people in EU & NA are sleeping. I’ve had to queue before on Saturday & Sunday morning’s not that its an issue by any means.

6am – 3pm (NZ time) covers EU & NA prime or part of it at least. SEA prime would be mid evening through to probably 5am here depending on which country they play from.

Been on piken for a couple of weeks now and I really enjoy it here. Some really good commanders running zergs morning/day, and some solid guilds during primetime. EU primetime is pritty stacked but other then that slots are open.

Teamwork amongst guilds is also strong.
