We are a small guild on the Ferguson’s Crossing server (NA). Our members are respectful, friendly, and helpful. Our focus is to build a supportive, fun community and we welcome players of all levels and abilities who want to build their GW2 home with us.

You may find our guild grows more slowly than most. For us, building a strong community atmosphere within our guild is more important than rushing in and being the first to conquer everything as quickly as possible. Since we try to make sure all of our members are of a similar mindset, our membership process is sometimes slower than most. But in the long run, this ensures a stronger foundation and loyal and longtime following.

FAQ:

Why the name Hedonism? This is just a game to us, not a way of life. Real life has enough stress and mess and the name is a reminder that the purpose of playing a game is to have fun.

Focus? PvE, Dungeons, Achievements, Mapping, WvW, light PvP, creating a solid community atmosphere.

Guild Missions? Yes, Bounty Hunter, Rush, Challenge and Trek.

WvW Commander? Yes, three. EU/NA/OC hours covered.

Voice Chat? Yes, Ventrilo

Time Zone? Even though we are on a North American server, we have become a guild without borders. We have members from around the world who play without issue. Countries represented include Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Chile, UK, Russia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Italy, Sweden, Singapore, US, and Canada.

Our goal is to have 12 to 20 (max) members on at any given time. There is still room to grow. Because we are casual and spread out around the clock, we still maintain a small guild feel, even with over 100 members in our family.

*If your play time starts around midnight PST or later (this is 7am UTC/GMT) we are especially hoping to talk to you. This means New Zealand, Australia, Oceanic, Asian, India, Japan, Hawaii, UK/EU and EU early birds, NA night owls, etc; we want you! :-D

What we are asking of you:

*Be courteous and respectful to each other and willing to help when someone asks.

*If you sign up for an event with a specific start time, please be focused enough to be prepared and on time, but don’t take yourself so seriously that you can’t laugh when a group wipes.

*Know that everyone has room to learn more (even you and me) and deserves to grow in a supportive environment.

Should go without saying because we are all adults, but here it is anyway:

Respectful language in guild chat and voice chat is a must and extends to grouping with others and map chat while you represent this guild. Your actions reflect on all of us. No hate speech of any kind will be tolerated.

What to expect from the Guild and the Leadership:

*The focus of the guild is PvE and WvW, but we will support those interested in PvP by sponsoring events both for play and for getting achievements.

*No one wants to make a mistake, but then again, no one is perfect either; therefore it’s important to recognize that and not treat every mistake or innocent comment like the end of the world.

*The rules apply equally to all members. If you feel that there is an issue that requires attention that isn’t being handled properly we encourage you to contact the guild leader personally in whispers or via the Guild website so we can resolve the situation promptly.

*Our long term goal is to build a casual but focused community like we outlined above (respectful, helpful, etc.) whether that community is five people or 500 people isn’t as important as the atmosphere of the guild.

*We want you to play the game the way you want to. Whether you want to get the most awesome gear you can or if you want to spend every day doing jumping puzzles, no one will ever make you feel bad about it.

*Above all, we just want people to have fun.

Detailed Info for EU and Oceanic hours

EU and Oceanic hours are still open. NA is open once more so all time zones are currently open.

EU membership could stand a boost. There is a lull between 14:00 and 17:00 GMT Monday-Friday (2pm to 5pm GMT or 7am- to 10am PST- things start picking up from there) so we’d like to top off our roster for that time period.

Oceanic, Asian, etc hours are getting filled out but we need several more to have the numbers where I’d like them to be. One night there might be five people on, the next there are 9 on (though I’ve seen as many as 12 on from 12 am to 4am PST-this would be 4pm to 8pm in Seoul, So. Korea for example).

I am eager to build up these hours and would love to invite members who are interested in helping us grow this time zone. Think of it as joining a new, growing guild but with a built in infrastructure and lots of unlocks already in place.

My goal as a recruiter/leader is to have about 12 to 20 (max) members on at any given time so I am dedicated to making this happen for all of our members, no one is going to be left behind.

If you would like to help us fill out these hours, we have room for you and your friends. Yes, it may take some time to build up those hours, but the more regular players we have, the easier and faster we can build the time slot. For that reason, if you feel like our mission statement as a guild fits what you are looking for, then give us a chance and together we can build a great home.

Some additional info based on questions I have been asked:

Are we actually a Casual guild? In a word, Yes. We know people have real lives that come with responsibilities. We respect your choice to have a family, a job, go to school, and to see sunlight every now and then. Log on when you can, we’ll be here when you do.

Am I Required Participate in Events No. We mean it when we say “casual”. We love when you can join us because that’s part of what makes gaming fun but, no one will make you participate if you aren’t into what is going on at the time.

What sort of Groups and Events Do You Have? We schedule all types of things:
Dungeons, Story Help, Mapping Parties, Orr Invasions, WvW, Lowbie Help, Jumping Puzzles and so on; though most groups happen spontaneously via guild chat. We also run Guild Only events where we give away gold and prizes. A few recent examples are a Scavenger Hunt, Darts, Screenshot Contest and so on.

Guild Tax People really do that?! NO guild tax, we appreciate whatever help you can give because we run contests and games with cash and item prizes, help each other out with gear donations and run the occasional fundraiser, but you don’t need to pay to be a member.

I’m sure I’ll think of more so I’ll add things as they come to me. Also, feel free to ask here or in game if you have any questions about the guild that aren’t addressed here.

As an EU (England) based member of this guild then if you are looking for a fun guild that enjoy what they do and have players on at most times of the day then come along and give us a try. I actually paid to swap from an EU server to this NA based guild I was so impressed.

So come along to Ferguson’s Crossing and have a great time playing with some great guildies.

Just be aware that I’m not quite the full ticket and am often misunderstood by my North American cousins :-)

Though Vixx told me something I was not aware of; apparently your lot use miles and not kilometers…. can you confirm this?

We do use miles and we drink from pint glasses but we weigh things on grams and kilogrammes and we measure in inches but also centimetres.

You wonder why us Brits are sooooooo confused most of the time!!!!

And all this time I thought it was all of those pints that caused your confusion.

There’s very much an age divide on what measures are used. Pre 30’s often don’t understand inches at all but the older generations always use inches. As for weights, a body is weighed at home mostly in stones and pounds, but at the Doctors etc in kilogrammes. Height most know in feet and inches but the Doctors use metres. [ie: 5 foot 0 inches = 1.52m or 152cm.
Most of the older generations still shop in pounds and ounces although all the scales are in grammes. The younger generations automatically use metric as they were never taught the imperial system. But still all distances on signs etc are miles.

The only measure I get concerned about is a full pint in the pub (bar).

Now come on lets stop talking weights and measures and get this recruitment under way. Come on you ‘orrible lot from the UK get on over here to this ’ere guild on Ferguson’s Crossing. You’ll have some great fun and laughs (as long as you ignore me!!).

Now see, I found that fascinating. I guess watching all of those shows on PBS doesn’t really give you an accurate education of our English brethren. I thought stones were the way it was done there for weight and kilograms etc were for the rest of Europe.

Two things I have learned though (and it seems to be a constant). First, Brits love their alcohol and second is that the English are just plain crazy. They sound all reasonable and normal, then they turn into Syl. Vixx is still trying to hold it in, but I can tell, it’s killing her.

BTW, I had a blast with you all today (Re, Syl, Vixx, and now Kol-welcome!) I haven’t laughed that much in a while.

Been leveling, mapping, grouped for materials and dungeon farming. Grouped for dailies and new content. Got my 6th character to 80 and am half way through the the monthly. And that was just last night. Doing all that and more again tonight, won’t you join us?

I’ve heard a concern from several interested players who are not living in North America that transferring to a NA server may have the consequence of serious lag.

As a player that lives in England let me assure you that I’ve not experienced any issues at all. In fact the NA Ferguson’s Crossing server that we are based on is better than te EU server I used to play on.

Also if any players that are interested in joining our guild that would like a chat about any concerns you have regards transferring to an NA server then just pm me here or in game and I’ll be happy to discuss anything.

I played on Gandara and on Aurora servers which are both EU and had lag. I transferred to NA server Ferguson’s Crossing specifically to join this guild and I now have no lag. I myself was amazed at this. I live in the UK as does Res above.
