My name is Mark, from the UK and 47 years old.
After playing WoW for 10+ years on/off, I finally got fed up of a lot of the things being done and not being done to the game and a few Guild members said try Guild Wars 2.
So I did and after 3-4 weeks of playing the game and being in a Guild for a short period of time, I felt, (after not knowing if you leave the Guild with 1 toon (an alt), you leave with all toons. Doh!, that the best option for me right now, is to create my own Guild.
The main reason for this, was simply because I’d be coerced into doing a dungeon or two, without knowing the said dungeon, bombing through it and feeling like such a noob, I actually hated doing dungeons.
That is not me. I do like dungeons, but I want to learn the dungeon, take my time going through it and improving my gameplay that way. I hate to be carried, purely because I made up the number needed. That said, the Guild I was in, was a good one, but embarrassment at finding out I had left the Guild with all my toons, when I left with an alt I was trying out, stopped me re-applying haha.
My goal therefore is:
To learn about the game, explore, learn what gear works best with what scenario, combos and more.
I want to be able to go into a dungeon with like minded players, who want to learn and progress at a steady rate.
Learn more about crafting, where and how to get the resources needed to craft legendary gear, find out if Karma is useful for said purchases and a lot more.
There is a huge amount of stuff to do in this game and I love it, but it is because of all the stuff that needs to be known, that rather than ask a million questions daily and fast become a nuisance to Guild members, that I decided to start my own.
I am on the Vabbi server and like I said, from the UK. I do plan on using TS, Vent or mumble. Whatever the majority decide is best suited and possibly creating a basic forum to post useful info on etc…
So, if you are new to the game or even experienced, but looking for a quieter Guild that is starting from scratch, then give me a shout in game for an invite and you’d be more than welcome.
One thing I would ask however, since the Guild is new, is that anyone joining, has to represent the Guild, or I see no point in being in the Guild. I am aware of the multiple Guild option also and that’s fine, just as long as when you are in Renegade Academy, you rep us.
The post is long and detailed, purely because I don’t wish to upset players joining, saying wtf! it’s only you in the Guild and there is nothing available. Yes, it is only me right now and if it stays that way, fine lol, but Renegade Academy is there for any new/experienced player that wishes for a quieter life in the short term, while I/we build up the Guild to enable us to start doing Dungeons, Guild events/missions, WvW and anything else we can do in game. I’m still learning sorry lol.
Finally, whilst I hate ranks, I am aware that they are needed and so ranks are available. I hate spamming recruitment messages in game, so don’t. I prefer the forum and/or word of mouth as we get bigger.
No hot heads or egomaniacs. I am hoping to get players who like to help, advise, learn and take part in the Guild, via chat, (when we have the numbers)- dungeons and more.
