Hi! I played this game at launch for a couple months, then took a bit off to play other games and was busy with other things. Relevant things about me to a potential guild – level 80 necromancer, bit confused and noobish now that there’s so many changes (the last big thing I was around for was the introduction of FOTM), I am an American living in Korea, so I am on a different time zone – so an Aussie guild would be great (or any guild with a variety of members from around the world, I just don’t want to be alone when I’m online) Also, I am a mostly a casual player, I work, have stuff going on, and I definitely cannot promise to be online at a certain time for events. Just want to put that out there. I’m pretty shy about ventrilo/teamspeak/mumble, so don’t be offended if I don’t come on too often. I am a 22 year old female if there is an age requirement, actually I somewhat prefer age requirements, I’m not too good with censoring myself.

Edit: I’m confused about people in different servers being in the same guild – can we still do everything together? What are the advantages of being in the same server?

More edit: I hate WvW, just putting that out there. If your guild is big on WvW, you don’t want me in it. I like regular events, dungeons, exploring more.

Hey! To answer your question about people in different servers in the same guild; for the most part, the answer is “yes”, they can do everything together. Guesting on different servers is free, so you can do all of the same PvE exploring with people in a different server that you would be able to on the same server.

There are two big limitations to being on a different server:
1. You cannot WvW with your guild’s server. This doesn’t seem to be of interest to you, so no big deal.
2. Influence that a guild gains is specific to a server. So if you’re on a different server, you won’t be able to share many of the perks of influence that others on your server share, such as guild storage.

That’s about all I can think of.

That said; I wanna put in a positive word for WvW. I’m not sure how much experience you have that makes you hate it, but WvW in my experience has been a much more tolorable form of PvP for the mostly-PvE player. So if you haven’t really given it much of a chance, try it out. If you have; well – don’t mind me then!

I’d put in a spiel about my guild, but given time zone differences and the fact that we don’t allow swearing, I’m thinking mine’s not right for ya. But good luck in your search and I hope my explanation helps!

Hey! To answer your question about people in different servers in the same guild…

Hi there! Thanks so much for your response and explaining the benefits of being in the same server. I played for a few months, and honestly fulfilling the monthly requirements for WvW was painful enough for me – I was bad at it, I felt like I spent all my time just trying to find the commanders to follow around, and didn’t find it very rewarding for my personal playstyle – I like gathering and collecting and making better armors, so that’s why I like dungeons and events and some of the FOTM I’ve done too. WvW is well done and all, it’s just not my cup of tea

Sounds like I’m not a match for your guild, but thanks for the consideration!
