Guild Wars 2

Revel is a WvW-focused PvX guild, established at the launch of Guild Wars 2 over four years ago. We’re currently recruiting active, dedicated, self-motivated players with a competitive drive that will make a solid contribution to our team.

Many guilds identify as PvX. In practice, most of these guilds base their presence almost entirely in PvE. Our approach is different. We are primarily focused on a competitive WvW environment (fights and PPT) but also participate in PvE and PvP activities together.

World vs. World:

• Three scheduled raids per week
• Regardless of experience, everyone is welcome as long as you bring a great attitude, are open to constructive criticism, and will adapt to group needs (guild builds, gearing, etc.)
• We regularly form small ops/havoc groups on off-nights
• Current class needs: Guardians, Revenants, Necromancers, Warriors, Mesmers, and Elementalists

Player vs. Environment:

• Daily fractal/dungeon groups (we mostly run high tier, but have members willing to assist others in progression)
• We have experienced leadership that can help you learn how to properly defeat content. As with anything, it’s on you to learn and improve, but we will do our best to get you up to speed if you’re new!

Structured PvP:

• Occasional training nights for those looking to get their feet wet and learn from the best in guild
• Highly experienced players that participate in ranked play during seasons

• Active, mature, and friendly members
• Private TeamSpeak

• Scheduled events
• Weekly Guild Missions & Raffles
• Knowledgeable players and veteran leadership
• Core part of server (Member of Blackgate War Council)

We’ve been a staple of the Blackgate community since day one and have no plans to relocate. Although we require you to be on Blackgate, it is not necessary for the beginning of your trial and can transfer once you’re sure you love us!

Although we do run things across all game modes, it should be noted we are currently emphasizing recruitment only for those who have a more dedicated interest in WvW.

Member Expectations:

• Be 18 years or older
• Reside on Blackgate (by end of trial)
• Utilize TeamSpeak often; required for WvW/grouped events (must have microphone)
• Represent us exclusively (bank/personal guilds are always fine)
• Be respectful and courteous to everyone, but especially those in the guild
• Regularly participate in scheduled guild events
• Be an active, committed, long-term member

I checked out your site it looks like a fit for me. I am looking for a hardcore wvw guild atm. I have been since EA disbanded (a bg wvw guild) more than a year ago, not many remember that guild since its been so long.I have been wvw by myself for over a year since and its getting boring, I want to make friends. I have not fully joined any wvw guild since then. I do run with the popular guilds when I am in wvw but have not join any of them since I do not like big guilds like Knt and the likes… sometimes with smaller guilds like hb and rise.

reason I am asking why 100% rep, cos I got a bank guild that need 10k rep but I am too cheap to buy it… so I was wondering if I do stuff like dailies to contribute to my guild bank rep then when I do other things I can rep rev.

having said all this if it is a problem I will buy the rep for my guild bank if you absolutely require 100% rep. will ap at the website.

I remember [EA], brings back good memories of the T2 days
[REV] are amazing Pho, with some high quality personalities, and players, I highly recommend.
Well worth the expense of buying your final 10k influence, if it’s required.

@pho: The exception to 100% rep is for bank guilds and the like. If you have influence that you’ve been holding onto you’re more than welcome to use it for a bank guild if you’d like (we have no shortage of influence). Also to be clear, we don’t consider ourselves “hardcore”, although we are very focused when it comes down to WvW and tPvP. It’s a good mix of a laid back atmosphere but putting on our serious faces when needed. Put in an app and let’s talk if you’re still interested.

I am interested in joining but I was wondering what your WvW activities consist of. Do you do Zerg type fighting or small grp stuff? Do you follow commanders, command yourselves, or just roam and look for fights?

Hey there!

We usually try to contribute and participate in every possible way in regard to WvW. That means everything from scouting, blood lust, and and camp flipping up to and including the big map fights.

On most scheduled nights we’ll field anywhere from 10-20 and our ideal group size is ~20 for medium-sized field fighting. It’s small enough that it isn’t considered a “zerg” and individual skill can still shine but large enough that we can be effective in nearly every situation that’s thrown at us.

By default, we run together as a guild group and not with a tag or other commander/guild. That is our preferred style. We will group up with another tag if it makes sense (outnumbered) or if we don’t have enough to run a separate force to compliment a map commander for the larger fights. Typically, we will tag up when the map doesn’t have a commander already or if map conditions call for it.

We balance our emphasis between PPT and looking for fights. Most of the time, I look at it as we get fights because we’re playing for PPT.

I am a new player seeking the right server to play on, and i know alot of that has to do with the guild/players you want to be surrounded by.. That being said I like the sound of what your guild offers… Not to mention I went to your site and read most of the information. Lol. Only problem is, that your server is full. Booo. lol

It’s very possible you would be able to get on Blackgate! It does open up for transfers fairly often, but briefly, so you have to keep a look out and be ready to transfer as soon as it shows it’s available. You’re also welcome to app and join us during your recruit period still being on another server; you’d just need to transfer before you become a full member.

That would be awesome actually. Does the server I start on matter at all? Lol.

Not unless you do plan on joining us. It sounds like you haven’t started playing yet. I certainly wouldn’t ask you to wait until Blackgate opened up, but there is a transfer cost (1800 gems) associated with moving servers once you’ve created your characters. The good news is that transferring does move all of your characters. Alternatively, you can delete all characters and get a free server transfer as well but that’s completely up to you.

Okay, Ill see what I can do. Is it possible to communicate across servers?

I am into some sPVP only guild that require me to rep when I play with them.

If I join REV and I play most of my match with a dedicated REV sPVP team (supposing that I fit comp and style), can I join you up without going on Blackgate (I don’t WvW) and repping 100% but more 60%+?

If you only do sPVP without touching other content, I’m not sure what you would get out of a PvX guild like Revel. You’d probably be best served in a pure PvP guild and/or team.

We do require 100% rep (bank guilds are always fine, sometimes we can make exceptions but not to 60%-worth). Maintaining a healthy community of members who play together frequently has always been a priority for us. We do require everyone to be on Blackgate at the moment as well.

Unfortunately, not so much. We have several EU players if I recall, but their availability typically aligns with our NA prime events. We don’t schedule events outside of the 8pm – 12am EST (UTC-5) window.

1) Do you still require 100% rep?
2) Do you require a server transfer? What about doing WvW runs?
3) Do you take raid grouping serious?
4) Do you have weekend raiding times?

To answer your questions:

1.) Yes, excluding bank guilds (if you’ve been playing long enough to enjoy that luxury). Occasionally, exceptions have been made but we are looking to be your primary community of players in GW2.

2.) Yes, but isn’t necessary at the start of your trial period. We want you to be sure you love us first. Certainly, WvW is the primary motivation for this requirement, but we understand some people aren’t into WvW and are primarily looking to PvE or PvP. We’ve been a Blackgate-only guild since head-start and have become well-known and respected within the server community. We also prefer that those who don’t normally WvW with us at least have the opportunity to do so from time-to-time, as opposed to never being able to.

3.) I’m assuming you’re referring to PvE raiding here (it’s also used to describe WvW) but the answer applies to both. We take grouping on the more serious side and push to have a general composition of professions and builds. Each PvE raid group may vary a bit in their atmosphere, goals, and composition (some groups run more days than others, for instance,) but the end goal is always progression within a reasonable pace. Only our more dedicated PvE players join our raid groups. For WvW, you’d be hard-pressed to find another PvX guild that commits to WvW as much as we do. We’re out there for two raids, sometimes three a week (and more during seasons). I think we bring a good balance of playing for fights and for score, which keeps people motivated and having fun.

4.) For PvE, that depends on the group. The third group we’re forming will not be raiding on the weekend (at least from what I understand). Only our first group does that which is currently full I believe. For WvW, we run reset once or twice every month (which used to be Friday, currently Saturday, now going back to Friday again this week.)
