Guild Wars 2

I’m just curious, has this concept ever caught on to other servers? Having a server guild that helps to fund and support it’s WvW? If there are others, I would like to know about them and how they are run. Share ideas! Thanks.

The only issue with server guilds is that if there’s ever a dispute or argument and the guild disbands/leaves, then the server is left with nothing and collapses. Successful servers that have managed to hold out over time are the ones that have a million little guilds and independent players, that if a big guild does decide to leave, the impact is minimal.

Server guilds can’t disband or leave… Unless the server disbands or leaves? The Champs server guild is built on a very open model, where sharing is encouraged and leadership is carried by those who step forward.

There are a lot of stories( Kaineng, Desolation, JQ way back) of single guilds ruining servers as they leave because they were running the forums and/or the TS3.

This is more common than most admit and usually it goes well (MOST of the folks who left SoS did so with some class); but it just takes one guild to walk away bitterly to mess things up.

So wow really? No server guilds. I guess it hasn’t caught on yet.

I think the closest thing you’ll find to what’s described in your links is the Blackgate War Council, however that’s more of an alliance rather than a single guild.

SoR has a public teamspeak provided by the guild TW which is crowd funded. However if I were to describe SoR’s WvW community, I would describe it more as a matrix. Guild leaders of WvW based guilds have means of communication, and there’s a weekly meeting open to everyone who wants to listen in on. As far as sharing siege and supplies goes, it’s limited between guilds, but I don’t think anyone has any problems obtaining superior siege, especially since it’s so cheap on the TP now…

Not saying one is better than the other, each are valid and proven ways of leading organizations (or in this case server WvW groups).

Blackgate has a guild called [PUGS] Pug Life Chose Us. They do not hardcore WvW, but they do contribute and support WvW in other ways:
- make superior siege
- open temples in Orr for the members of your guild who still need their karma gear
- fund commander tags and server transfers

Their members are all like-minded players who want to help out the server.

The BWC mentioned above is just server guild use as a bank.

Thanks guys. That is interesting. We actually have a guild called SBI Invaders that does weekly temple runs while guesting on another server. Good fun. Ppl tag that and ‘invade’ another server’s temples.

Oh and I know how SoR runs. I’m in SoR too hehe.

We don’t have a server guild either. We do like Sanctum of Rall does, have weekly meetings. Many of the PvX guilds allow anyone to join them for guild missions, which is sweet. Most of the WvW guilds are on the Teamspeak server so we just ask for help if we need it on a map.

Good example of a fail would be HoD’s Titan Alliance back when the game began.
