Hello all! Vicarious is a Guild Wars 2 guild that has been around for quite some time now. We’re intentionally a smaller guild, allowing us to get to know each of members better and to make friends while playing, not just gamers. We level together in PvE, run instances regularly such as dungeons and fractals, fight alongside each other in WvW, and are in the process of reorganizing a competitive SPvP team as well. No matter what you’re looking for in Guild Wars 2, Vicarious has you covered.

We use mumble to communicate with each other (Mumble is similar to TeamSpeak or Vent for those not familiar). Mumble is required to have, and we’ll expect all of our members to be active regularly. We aren’t an elitist group by any means, but we do expect to see our friends more than once a week. i have been looking for a new guild that is very small. more concerned with friendships than endgame. im 40 and live in dallas. i play most every night 10pm cst for about 3-4 houtrs. i do have a personal guild that is only for overflow and i do represent 100% of the time.

this guild sounds like alot of fun i enjoy making friends in game alot more then just questing and playing! its alot more fun to play this game with people you get along with

Ok so I was browsing through the forum and stumbled across this, I’m very new to this game and am looking for a guild to help me learn more about it and form some friendships along the way. I only have a lv 7 human elemental and could use some help and advise. If i need to change worlds il do it as soon as i can, im currently in isle of Janthir. Its the beginning of summer for me so i should be on most of everyday.

i am glad I came here and saw this. I am not sure exactly if guilds accept people at my novice level (lvl 5 ranger) because I just started. I read the first line and smiled because earlier today I posted, literally, ‘Why am I playing all alone?’ I got some good answers, one of them was to join a guild. I am not sure what mumble is but i do have a mic on my beats headphone to talk. I started playing to make some friends because real-life ppl crap on me so Ill be on a lot. If I am too inexperienced, I understand completely, do not let my sob story effect your decision

Been looking for a guild like this. I was just wondering how you guys feel about necros in dungeons though. We get so much hate and I wouldn’t want to waste your time if you don’t like them on the team. haha

Hey all, I’m the Captain of vicarious and as such am responsible for the sPvP aspect of our guild as a whole. Within the next few days we at Vicarious plan to have a guild run custom arena, so if you’re interested in sPvP at all or would like to learn we’ll have a safe, griefing free zone in which to hone your skills. Inexperience isn’t an issue with me or any other guild member…after all, the whole point of a game is to have fun isn’t it? We also believe that everyone starts somewhere, and no one person begins playing an mmo knowing every little detail about how to play. My main message was sPvP oriented, but the same philosophy applies to any other part of the game. If you have questions, feel free to ask them. If you have a problem in the game, then we as officers would love to help you with it. The whole point of an mmo is to bring people together, and maybe we can learn something along the way.

So if you’re interested in sPvP or you’ve ever given up on it because of griefing, please utilize our custom arena (coming soon) or jump into sPvP with myself or another member of the guild. At the end of the day it’s not about the big W, even for the Captain, so there’s no need to feel any pressure to be the best. The aim is to have fun. I hope to see you all in the Heart of the Mists soon.

How important is it to you that your members use mumble? Not everybody can hear or talk, ya know

No problem with that at all Xandir. Barinthus, we do use mumble and expect our members to use it as well. I do apologize if that’s not going to work for you, but that’s why we’re not the only guild around. Hope you find a good one that works for ya!

You sound like a fun & friendly group that could be just what I’m looking for. There are some things I’d like to ask first.

1) How much of the time do you require members to represent?
2) How important is it that someone transfer? I’m currently on another server, and while I could eventually transfer to Blackgate it wouldn’t, as I understand it, really grant me any extra privileges aside from doing WvW which is something I have almost no interest in therefor it doesn’t seem like it’d be worth the real or in-game money expenditure.
3) How often do you do guild activities, and what kinds of activities do you do? Most every guild will do dungeons, PvP, etc together, but how often do you equip wedding dresses & pitch forks and go raid Southshore? Oh wait, wrong game. <.<
4) I’m an incurable alt-oholic, which means I’ll be leveling and gearing up extremely slowly. Is that a problem of any sort?
5) What sort of conduct do you expect from your members? I tend to be “lovingly vulgar” as someone put it. While I can and regularly do curb my language, it’s always more fun to just be yourself rather than feeling like you have to censor yourself all the time. To what extent should I expect to rein myself in?
6) Not so much a question, but something I like to let people know in advance is that I’m a music junkie, well and truly addicted. While I don’t mind getting on voice coms for organized events I don’t get on most of the time because listening to music while people are chattering on Mumble is like watching your favourite film with someone waving their hands in front of the screen. Your site says the minimum is once a week which isn’t a problem at all. I just wanted to let you know that if I’m not on voice coms it’s not because I’m being distant. It’s just that I require music like a fish requires water.

Hello Mallow!

1. If you wish to be a part of our family, we expect you to be a brother or sister. We will have no lone wolves in our family. Join us at least once a week on all three bases: Guild Wars 2, Mumble, and our Website!

2. If you do not like WvW in the least, that is not something we will penalize you for. We do want you to join us for dungeons and guild bounties, which could be achieved with guesting. Whatever is more comforting for you. If you would really like to switch, talk to either I, Foop, or Kaira, our leadership.

3. Every Saturday, we have a guild night. I make it my duty to always lead a successful guild bounty. As we are a small guild, building up to a Guild Challenge is a long road we intend to finish one day. Our guild does dungeons daily. All you have to do is ask!

4. Hell no. Do as you wish. You are not the only one. If you find that you are truly in love with one class, we will help you get them to 80. Your level will only hurt you if our bounties just so happen to be of high level as well.

5. We are a family. Families have their wild ones too. Please be yourself. If you find that you do not like us at your best, then we are probably not for you. I rather have you be happy to be yourself. We do allow swearing. However, if someone is uncomfortable with a swearer, we will let you know who that is and we expect you to respect them as a brother or sister.

6. While mumble is highly expected of all our members, you can be as good of a listener as you are a player. I will not penalize you for loving the art of music. This is why we have a “quiet” channel. We want you on mumble to show your devotion to the guild, and so we can reach you in the fastest manor possible.

Hey guys. Your guild sounds really cool and sounds like something I would love to be in. I am currently new to the game and am trying to find a class that I like. I am currently leveling a Mesmer, at lvl 9. My home server is Emhry Bay so I am guesting on Blackgate until I get gems to switch over. Hopefully I will hear from you guys soon

I joined up about 3 weeks ago, definitely enjoying the guild. It isn’t too big that you feel like a number, but also enough activity that we can run dungeons often. The leaders just started a guild event calendar so if you want to schedule something in advance you want to run, like a particular dungeon path. For example I’m running a Dungeon World Tour every weekend from AC to Arah.

The group is also very cross server friendly with Blackgate being full. About 1/4 of the membership I feel are on other servers. With guesting it doesn’t pose too much of a problem, and dungeons aren’t impacted in the least. The only downside is you can’t guest WvW.

I enjoy WvW immensely. I’m looking forward to when our guild commander returns in a week or so and picks up leading groups. Many of the members are big into sPVP and run teams together almost nightly.

Overall I’d recommend joining VCAR!
