Guild Wars 2

What I’m looking for is a modestly sized (somewhere between one to two dozen member) community that is genuinely sociable and welcoming. In a nutshell I’m not just looking for people to play wtih, I’m looking to make friends.

• I’ve been in a lot of guilds where people refuse to talk unless their already established “clique” is online. Guilds where I only get spoken to/invited on runs if members of “the core group” are missing, or if the guild needs extra bodies for its mission runs.
  That kind of cold, distant, utilitarian experience is not the type of community I’m looking for.

• I don’t care what your level of experience as a guild is: I don’t care if you’re a rag tag band of new players, or if your a well oiled machine of “Day 1 Veterans.” I don’t care if you have events regularly throughout the week, or if you’re struggling to unlock your first set of Guild Missions. All I’m looking for is people to spend time with.

• Sorry if this comes across a bit strongly, but I’m tired of guilds that keep treating me like a faceless grunt, to be used or discarded at their leisure. What I’m looking for is a friendly, warm, intimate community full of friends who all know each other fairly well, who are genuinely excited to see each other, and genuinely enjoy spending time together.

I’m going to try and keep coming back to this page throughout the day, but the truth is that— while I visit the forums frequently— I don’t log in to my forum account all that often, so PMs are a slow way to get ahold of me.

I will however be around in game pretty frequently this weekend and you can always send me mail in game if I’m not around when you look for me. It may/may not be convenient for you, but that’ll get my attention a lot quicker xD

Anyway, sorry for the huuuuuge post, but I figure the clearer I am on what I’m looking for, the more likely I am to find it.

Hopefully there’s a guild out there for me and at the risk of sounding overly sentimental, I’m really looking forward to meeting my future friends! ^.^

I had a very similar experience when searching for guilds myself. Often The larger guilds were cliquey and unwelcoming.

Your number of a dozen to 2 dozen players is probably going to make this difficult though, because often times guilds only have a quarter or less of their active players online at once, so a small guild like that can seem much less social.

So barring your membership #, I would like to recommend the Knights of Ares [ARES], which was the first NA guild I found that was welcoming and fun, with great senses of humor, and in general a great all round guild. I ran into them in pugs, and then eventually joined when I had had a really terrible experience with some other guilds.

Anyway it’s a bit larger than what you’re looking for, but I’d encourage you to check it out (assuming you’re 18+, have a good sense of humor, etc).

Hey Krest seems like you have had a rough time finding a group!

Synergy is a guild started by some friends with a goal to create a small community of friendly players. We aren’t interested in having 500 members where no one knows anyone else. We are currently playing Guild Wars 2 primarily on the Jade Quarry server.

For Guild Wars 2, we participate both PvE and organized PvP in both WvWvW and structured PvP. Most of us have been gaming together since the days before Guild Wars 1 and continue to do so. Because of our long standing community, you will find that it is an atmosphere where everyone knows each other and learns to play well as a well oiled machine, hence the name Synergy.

•Focus on Living Story achievements
•Chance to play with friendly players
•Structured PvP teams
•Active TeamSpeak
•Strong leadership with two PvE officers and two PvP officers to back up our leader.
•Scheduled events including Dungeons such as high end fractals and the like.
•Assistance with farming legendary items.

•Officer positions available for:

PvE – with a focus on dungeons
WvW – we prefer to run smaller organized teams.

What we expect
•18 and up preferably
•Have a working Mic and TeamSpeak preferred
•Have a sense of humor but realize things may not always be PG13
•Attributes of a team player with a good attitude.

Krest! Everything you said sounds like exactly the type of person I would like to add to our small community. We are a group of 6 friends that play a variety of games together and are trying our return to Guild Wars 2. I will add you in-game if you don’t see this first and look forward to talking with you!

Hello Krestfallen!

I’m a co-leader of a brand spankin’ new PvE guild, The Eternal Mist [THEM].

We’re small, we’re friendly, and we (mostly) genuinely enjoy interacting with other hooominz.

Might I ask what times you play? The majority of our members are Oceanic and NA nightowls – with the exception of myself, I can be found at almost all times of day lol.

Because of how new we are, we do not currently have a set schedule, but are considering only running Sunday – Thursday (NA) and only a few hours at a time, so that WvWers and PvPers are freed up. It’s important to note that we do not require 100% rep – just join us for activities.

If you do join, and if you do wvw, I promise I will try not to hold your server against you.
