Guild Wars 2

I’ve heard good things about both servers, and frankly I don’t know which to choose before this WvW League starts. SoR’s been in t1 for ages, and TC is good but hasn’t gotten a boost to be able to fight in t1, so I’m not sure how much kitten they’ll actually kick, but the odds look good for both. Who should I choose? Tell me about your server!

Alright, I think I’ve decided to go with SoR, especially after reading the touching tidbit on Roger “Oldroar” Rall. The community is there, and the WvW sounds up to my expectations. Now that I’ve decided, I’d be greatful if anyone could send me some info on guilds that would suit my playstyle (former member of PRX and Team Legacy).

I would say SoR personally and not because I am a member of said server. Sanctum of Rall has a history behind the name and a large community that holds the server together. With a large PvE community and very tight-knit WvW community Sanctum of Rall is one of the hot spots in my eyes for any WvWer looking to learn what it takes to fight with the best. We were an underdog for many many many months and still are, but we’ve held strong. Most of our guilds are what were here when the game first released, the rest have become our brothers in arms.

If you’re looking for a server who is willing to never back down from a fight I would believe Sanctum of Rall is the place for you.

P.S. – Tarnished Coast is a great server as well not to give them any discredit.

Depends on what you are looking for and what timezone you play. TC has a very flourishing GvG scene (8-9 guilds regularly GvG) and much like SoR it has a very stable community with pretty much zero transfers out of the WvW community since they have arrived.

All round the PPT play is strong (although stronger in SEA/Oceanic) and lots of defense minded enthusiasts still exist on the server.

Depends really what you are looking for; PPT play during off times, PPT play during NA, Defensive play, Havoc, GvG scene. Most of these criterias are ticked by TC but I would say some criteria s are better ticked by other servers; for e.g. SoR’s NA plays PPT much harder than TC’s NA.

Both servers are probably the most stable of any in NA.

Both servers have their own histories and community highlights.

Both servers have the strongest NA population of any other.

Both servers seem to have drama free environments.

At the end of the day, you’ll have to do your homework, personally I don’t think you can go wrong either way. Those 2 servers are currently the premier servers to be on if longevity, stability, and strong community are important to you.

Depends on how fast you like to pound the 1 key. Being part of either server you’ll likely steamrolled your opponents if in NA timezone. Although it’s getting slightly better that you now can throw out more than just the 1 key, it’s because most of their opponents have been playing less so opponents zergs are not enough to fight off their blobs.

Hello, you’ll find both SOR and TC have warm communities. Both have great guilds and players who aren’t afraid to face the odds. TC is not in T1 only because of coverage. I think you’ll feel at home in either one.

Starters, both servers are great I think. But you’re asking for us to sell, so…

At SOR we’re a really tight bunch (from a WvW standpoint). All the guilds are well connected and have a good relationship with one another. We’re each out for each other and try our best to help a fellow player in their time of need.

Our guilds are topnotch and are always recruiting dedicated WvWers. Our PvX guilds are also ever active and occasionally do their own WvW runs!

We host a number of server events, most notably being drunken karaoke karma train night, where we all get together, have a few drinks, flip some towers, have a bit of a sing a long and generally have a good time.

Not only will you have your guild community, but you’ll have your server too. We’re all friends here Literally.

JQ is what you want mate.

SoR is more united as a server. TC has a divided community when it comes to wvw ideals. They do a great job of ignoring it though.

Both servers are very similar. The only major difference I can think of is that SoR uses TS as their primary voip, and TC uses mumble.

If I remember correctly, TC’s NA ticked higher than SoR’s, but lost during off-hours.
