SBI Server Milestones 2013 – 2014

In chronological order

- Open field basics and tactics was introduced to SBI.

- Server wide WvW training sessions were held on a regular basis.

- Interest in WvW grew greatly with frequent player hosted WvW events and SBI halted it’s decline after the exodus.

- Player hosted server wide PvE events such as weekly Jumping Puzzles, Temple Invasions of other servers and Map Completion help bond SBI members.

- Recruitment ramped up and several WvW guilds joined the SBI community. Each attracting more and more people to WvW.

- Server Teamspeak grows by 400% (up to 450 clients now) to accommodate the influx of WvWers. Teamspeak management and organization is refined.

- New WvW guilds on SBI show excellent teamwork to make SBI NA a force to be reckoned with.

- WvW Experts/Commanders from T1 servers invited to run training sessions/workshops on SBI in a bid to further improve our WvW quality.

- SBI becomes a Korean powerhouse once again attracting many Koreans for WvW on SBI.

- SBI SEA TZ WvW increases in volume and quality.

- Our very own in-house Match Breakdown site http://www.stormbluffisle.org/wvw/

- SBI comes in 3rd in Silver League.

- SBI Community website hits over 3000 registered members.

There are always setbacks, but with teamwork and determination they are overcome and the gaming quality and experience improves.

Moved to SBI from Devonas Rest back in summer with DDLG. So happy here. Fond memories of DR, but this my home now. Great community, top notch commanders, friendly players, and something here for everyone (GvG, havoc, Zerg battles, scouting) – whatever you feel like. Queues are no problem except sometimes on EBG during NA prime.

Just a little taste of SEA time WvW on SBI. Looking for more WvW enthusiasts to join us! You will not regret it!

Moved to SBI from Ferguson’s Crossing and could not be happier! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. They have a Great WvW Community with SUPER Commanders, a Server Siege and Capture Buff Pool that the Community contributes to and the BEST thing is logging off with Full upgrades KNOWING that you will not log on the next day and have to capture EVERYTHING back!
For those that split their time, the PvE Community is awesome here as well with lots of Weekly Community Events!

We recently had a couple more guild transfers to our NA and are in the process. We have some guilds gearing up for WvW training in the near future and we are also looking for more SEA to combat strong SEA opponents we face.

We have all the structure set up for a server community. Come join SBI today.

I’m an sbi lifer, so I am biased, but it would be hard to pass up a community as resilient as this one.

I remember when we were at the t1 block party. The party was good, up til the point our friends put an anchor on us as they walked out the door. We sank, but we got the anchor off of us halfway before getting to the bottom. We doggy paddled there for awhile, until some people decided to jump in the water with us. Together we swam for shore, and got close enough to that t1 party that we could hear some music.

We’ve been abandoned, and have forged some great new relationships over the past year. We are currently in tier 3, and did float up to tier 2 for a quickie. We have great fights with the other servers in tier 2 and 3.

Our SEA group is strong, even though they can get outnumbered by SoS and DB, they still perform very well. Our NA is strong, and can perform well against Mags impressive NA guilds. Our EU does lack the coverage, but they have improved over the past few weeks.

We support all types of styles of play, from zerg busting, to zerging. From havok groups and roamers, to people who defend camps, towers, and keeps. You can play your way.

Due to contrary belief, we don’t really map blob. We normally run in guild groups, and if one is outnumbered, you better believe that another group will come and support them.

So, in short, SBI is a great home for WvW players, and also a great place for PvE. Hope to see you in the mists, if you decide to run with us, and hope to have great battles with you if you decide to be with someone else. No matter what, it all comes down to having fun.

Be nice to those you meet on the way up because you will meet them on the way down.

Majority of Maguuma guilds are farming gold to fund Ocx/Sea/Eu guilds to the server to keep us in t2 for the fun match ups.
Our NA is superb compared to SBI’s, so you wont have to carry the server with just sheer coverage.

seriously? Mag has little to no night population and trying to take a keep from mag is annoying with the group of 20-30 hiding behind 50 sup ac’s.

At least FA has DKP,Meow,Gwam,Sern and DPS.

Funny you should mention guilds that get utterly destroyed by KH or when VR decides to play late hours.

Because they were tired of SBI and SoS killing them in anything other than NA prime. It’s quite funny how they love to brag about 4 hours of coverage all the time.

Seems someone is still sore from losing 2 of the last 3 matches to us. You got a lucky draw this week, with DB actually giving our…3am server time crowd, an actual fight, so you aren’t getting killed. Also, you and DB have better EU than us.

Not one time this entire week have I see a single DB fighting SBI so the 3am server crowd thing is crap Olaf, NNK and TFV enter our areas and go straight for doors and dont seek fights at all… Looking forward to next week, if there are better fights in NA prime.

Probably wont be better fights, because EoTM is still new. Once that calms down, hopefully we start going back to the BLs and fighting each other’s guilds.

Except every time Mag NA stays up late we hammer the everloving tar out of DB and SBI. You people have warped perceptions.

KH came over to Mag because they got sick of bad Tarnished Coast players following them and they wanted to play in a time slot they could have to themselves. They’ve had the luxury of getting to wipe groups that outnumber them repeatedly because Mag doesn’t have coverage then.

We want guilds like KH, not garbage like you’re talking about. You should probably stick in SBI with the ktrain that gets farmed at their spawn in ebg.

All we’re trying to say is that stop recruiting for MAg on the SBI thread, go to your own thread or just speak to individual SEA players and recruit them to VR and KH to make VR oceanic/SEA. Recruiting guilds isn’t the only way to improve coverage.

I’m pretty sure SBI fired the first shot on this one, the post was made on OUR recruitment thread first, it was reported and deleted from the thread after Duke made his post, you cant blame some of our people for being annoyed and the OP should have probably handled it the same way, Mag players are certainly not strangers to getting infractions. Keep your “Come to SBI instead.” Comments out of our recruitment thread and kitten like this will not happen. Good Luck on your recruiting.

If there’s one achievement that Mag has done that impressed me, is that it managed to amass such a collection of trolls together in one place, it’s incredible. It’s really quite an impressive feat.

SBI isn’t dying. We had a couple of medium-sized WvW guilds disband and one xfer, but many more are staying. We also have guilds who have transferred in or are beginning to transfer onto SBI and it will take them time to get all of there members over. So, at the moment, SBI is not quite as strong as it was as we are in a bit of a state of flux, but there is no dreaded “mass exodus” and the community is pulling together. Many people here are experienced and mature enough to know that nothing stays the same for long in a server’s WvW community. We roll with the changes, work to improve, and keep fighting. EotM is not helping as it has probably drawn a fair amount of our militia away from WvW, but I’m already seeing more activity back on the WvW maps.

Also, Maguuma seems to have added some guilds and decided to play for PPT moreso than in the past.

I encourage any guild with the following characteristics to strongly consider SBI:

- Work well with others
- Treat others with respect, and strive to avoid drama
- Have a positive, winning attitude
- Are willing defend key assets on any map, and to hop maps strategically

Let SBI be the destination for guilds and players with not only skill, but winning attitudes, determination, maturity and respect.

No Fallout …. We do not bribe Guilds to come to SBI with Gold but I have heard rumors that we do provide tasty cookies and pies!

Having a lot of fun this week. Keep asking about SBI, we’ve got a solid bunch of dedicated players and leaders who come out night after night and provide a solid foundation for new players and transfers!
