Vanguard of Exiled Mercenaries [MERC] is an open field WvW guild seeking exceptional/skilled PvPers to join our ranks.
What we do:
We primarily run untagged, enjoying the thrill of the fight, attempting to move away from the current blob meta. Local to Blackgate, we are also entering the ‘community defined’ 15v15 GvG scene, looking to participate in regular GvG matches.
When we do it:
We operate in the Oceanic/SEA time zones. Namely in GMT +6/8, we generally start up in WvW around 7-8pm AEST or 5-6pm AWST and run for a few hours. We mainly run on weekdays, giving our members the weekend to do as they please/have a social life 
GvG’s are generally organized ~a week in advance, giving us adequate time to prepare and have people online for them. GvG times are generally slightly more sporadic than our set WvW times.
Our aims:
We don’t necessarily want to be the largest guild, we do however want to be competitive in both the WvW and GvG scenes. We want to be known for our skilled play and ability to conquer greater numbers, feared by the enemy. (Though we already are)
Community is of the utmost importance to us, where we have a strong core of members and officers who not only consider each other guildies, but friends. We enjoy our members being active on teamspeak, whether it be participating in awkward karaoke, commanding through song lyrics alone, banter, or yelling out your skills as loudly as you can. Being active and talking within teamspeak during general play sessions, GvG’s etc. goes a long way in fostering and strengthening our community, as well as ensuring we’re always having fun.
Our expectations:
With the current blob meta, the term ‘rally bait’ is thrown around frequently. It generally refers to those players with little skill who are easily defeated and provide rally opportunities for the enemy. Blobs are full of them. It is entirely possible to defeat enemy groups twice your size with skilled play, strong positioning, synergy and coordination.
As such, we’re looking for skilled and intelligent players to join our ranks and assist in the strengthening of our guild as a force to be reckoned with. Additionally, these players should positively represent our guild and ideally have the following traits:
- Skilled Play
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to embrace positive criticism
- Regular activity
- Use Teamspeak 3/have a microphone
- Loyalty
- Maturity
- Friendly attitude
