Vengeance of Balthazar [VoB] is a newly formed WvW guild on Borlis Pass.
VoB was created so that like-minded WvW players could play and socialize together. VoB strives to recruit players that fit our play style and personalities; we’re not a mega-zerg guild. We prefer challenging and engaging fights of all sizes, but would like to focus primarily on fights with 5-15 members. Although not necessarily requirements (as with most things, there can be exceptions), we expect the following from our members. If you don’t meet the below criteria, you’re probably not a good fit for the guild.
*Be experienced in WvW and/or PvP. We want to know that our guild members have our back in combat (PvE does not adequately train you to play against other players). We need to trust and rely and each other. All members will have to learn to play together. Lesser experienced recruits will be allowed on a case by case basis.
*Cooperate. If somebody suggests something, be willing to try it. We all have something we can learn from others, no matter how experienced you are.
*Use Teamspeak. Not only is voice communication important, it also allows members to socialize and get to know each other. A guild is stronger when the members know each other and can communicate effectively.
*Represent the guild. It’s understandable that you may want to do things other than WvW or that you may want to group with others. 100% Representation is not required (at least while we’re starting up and growing in numbers), but you should want to represent as often as possible. Influence will enable us to activate upgrades (such as banners, guild bank, WvW bonuses etc.). Not only does representation give us influence, it also increases awareness of our guild and helps build our reputation.
*Uphold guild values. This is a requirement with absolutely no exceptions. We don’t want members that are rude, arrogant, disrespectful, etc. By all means have fun, but don’t do it at the expense of others.
*Be active. We understand that there are higher priorities than GW2, but we do expect members to play. It’s better to have a core group of members that log in often than it is to have a large number of members that rarely log in. While logged in, you should want to WvW with other members. Occasional PvE is optional.
*There aren’t any “required” play times, however, most of our members will probably be playing in the early evenings (roughly 3pm to 8pm (GMT -5)) during the week and (roughly 8am to 3pm (GMT -5)) on the weekends. This is when I play and also try to recruit for.
Hopefully that gives you a good idea of what the guild is about. If you have any questions or would like to join, feel free to whisper me in game (/w Aias Ironfell) or to create a recruitment thread on our forum . A recruitment template has been stickied for your use as a guide.
Thanks for your interest in our guild!
