Guild rep negotiable, but 100% team interaction/commitment is required!

NOTE: We have slightly realigned ourselves to focus more on our core raid team and our current raiding style! If you have visited us in the past, please note that some of our past requirements have both loosened and tightened than our previous recruitment threads.

Please visit our website http://theexpedition.proboards.com for more detailed information on raid times and structure

[XP] is a medium-small community of passionate GW2 players who want to experience team-oriented content through raiding, PVP leagues, and open world events.

Raiding is our primary focus, and our core team is 14 members strong with a few more trials/subs in training. We are looking for about 6 more core raiders to allow our members to take advantage of our Flexible Raiding System, where our guild can sustain raiding every weekday with core members choosing their own “off nights” without affecting progression.

————————- “You Choose When You Can Raid!” —-———————
We offer a place for new and veteran players to progress in GW2 raiding with no strict schedule commitments though our Flexible Raiding structure. You sign up when you are available, and our Raid Leads will build 10-man teams ahead of time to let you know when you actually are expected to raid. Thus, if you need an “off night”, just let us know, and we will respect your decision to sit out. This allows our members to maintain a healthy balance between gaming and Real Life responsibilities without hindering team progression. This does require commitment to showing up for times you DO sign up for, even if you are a sub for that night.

—— “Looking for MMO Raiding Skill, not Flashy GW2 Accolades!” —--
Though we allow our members flexibility in availability, the guild takes a very serious approach to raiding. We are looking for strong “MMO Raid Mentality” over how long and experienced you say you are in GW2. A majority of our recent recruits have come in with their fractal levels, armory full of ascended gear, 20K+ achievement levels, and saying they can play any role/class; however, plenty of them could not keep up with our raid style or oversold themselves and their capabilities.

Our raid team works off of team synergy, supporting each other, communication, patience with our varying levels of experience, adaptability of our evolving team compositions, and understanding what it means to be in a “raiding guild”. We work off personal self-assessment and being honest about our strengths and weaknesses, allowing our raid leaders to adjust team composition for max efficiency for the roster that evening. Being able to give and receive criticism in a professional, helpful manner is also crucial to working together.

—— “We build teams off our teammates, not necessarily what is meta!” —--
We require all raid members to stick to one “main class” with one optional “alt”. We also do not restrict people on which class is their “main”. We firmly believe that people play best on characters they enjoy, and that team roles can be found with our more flexible raiders and some innovative team builds. Since we are focused on flexible schedule, we don’t have the freedom to pick and choose our classes for a “meta” team comp every night. Thus we often run non-meta team comps based on what the current roster’s strengths and abilities. We have had clean kills with some unique teams, such as a team with 7 condi necro/engis, teams with no burnzerkers/chronos/druids, and teams with our main tank as main healer too. With the right skill level, support, and patience, we get the kills we need with the teammates we have each night.

—— Common Misconception: We are about traditional raiding, not farming raids —--
We have been getting quite a few whispers and complaints in our trial raids asking things like… “Do you have the full raid on farm?” or “Why aren’t people in full ascended?” or “Why is your team comp/strategy not optimal for this boss?”

If you have read about us and understood our philosophy, you’d understand that those issues are not what we are about, nor how we approach GW2 raiding.

We have a team that can one-shot/first-pull Vale Guardian and Gorseval with clean kills. 11 of our 14 core raiders touched Sabetha for their first time ever last raid reset ago, so our core team is just learning her fight. Most of our core raiders are in Ascended gear, but not all; however, it doesn’t matter to us because we kill bosses fine.

We expect exceptional player skill, but we also expect the patience to sit and wipe with our newer members in training. For our newer raiders/lesser performers, we expect you to improve upon our criticism and respect that we will replace you if we need to move everybody else on to the next boss.

Honestly, a majority of our stronger core raiders come from PVP backgrounds or other MMOs rather than GW2 veterans with dungeon speedclear/fractal backgrounds. We can train boss mechanics and help you acquire gear/builds, but we cannot train player skill and reaction time.

If you want easy boss kills, magnetite farming, and meta team comps, there are plenty of other guilds that can promise you that. I’ll be honest that those expectations will not make you happy in our community.

[XP] is no longer a “start up” guild, but our guild and flex raiding system can only sustain itself with members who truly comprehend our ways of running things. If you like what you read and want to join, please ensure you will be able to commit to our philosophy.

Sharpe and I are hosting a PUG Vale Guardian on Tuesday, Jan 26. Forming party at 8pm EST, but we might not get started until 9pm.

This will be a learning run, and we will be working with whoever we get, even if it means non-meta. We might not kill VG, but you can see how we approach coaching and patience we strive in our members. If you just want a kill and think you wouldn’t have the patience to wipe and run with non-meta strategies, then you’d probably get frustrated and probably should not attend.

Please send an in-game mail to Sharpe and myself if you want to attend. No Vale Guardian experience needed, but please have exotic or higher gear and full elite spec unlocked for build help. We will be using Discord instead of sharing our main TS server.

Just wanted to quickly share my experience with this guild. Before joining XP during their first recruitment phase my GF and I have been trying to find a guild for 2 years now. Not finding a group that fit us personality and goal wise really was unmotivating for us to play this game. Our core raid group has had lots of fun the past couple weeks meshing with the new recruits and progressing together. We just got our FIRST SABETHA KILL this week, with our core group having a few weeks together. A vast majority of us saw Sabetha for first time 1 week ago as well. My GF and I have seriously refound our enjoyment of this game because of finding this guild. Enough from me! Go read the incredible guild site and speak to Riven to find out for yourself if XP is right for you
