Yak’s bend just gave a huge upset for the SBI guys in silver league. But, it has been very kitten us as a server, it’s been pretty much our insomniyaks doing our best to keep things together. We have literally only 2 main WvW guilds, and lately since our server has quite a bit PVE pop, after season’s we barely que any maps – and this is in the top of the silver league bracket!

About our timezones.

We have a “decent” oceanic force now, we use to have none many months ago. Our NA is probably our weakest hour do to other servers having so many guilds in there kitten nal. Our Oceanic force ranges from 30-60 guys, and its one thing that is keeping us in the rank we have.

During NA slots, it is quite stressful – but literally one more guild would be like the light at the end of the tunnel.

About our server.

We have many, many smaller guilds that do WvW. More smaller ones will be a great addition, even more so if they’re interested in growing!

We have our own public TS, that nearly every guild uses exclusively one way or another. Unity, yay!

Nearly 0 drama for months on end, not seen hardly any in-server fighting, maybe a little argument here or there though.

Yeah we just don’t have the numbers to fight you guys since the season went off, our PVErs are gone. But we can still pull off wins as you can see! Christmas is owning us now though. :p Good stuff!

Haha, Natronix! Yeah, we have amazing insomniyaks, like Chris said. Christmas is owning us because, you know…RL > GW2…the way it should be. I am sure EVERY server is noticing a difference but with Yaks being the “unofficial” older server, I think it is a bit more here because we are not queuing anything! Not YBBL or EB and not even on reset!

More other day’ers would be awesome! It would allow us to put up a fight against servers like SoS. We love defending and have 2 huge guilds that love looking for and owning fights. We have awesome havoc guilds that know their stuff and we have a great communication system that rallies people to where we need them.

We have squabbles like any close family but we have been drama free since Summer ‘03 (err…’13 but that didn’t rhyme..).

Come talk to us if you want a fun atmosphere, play the style your guild enjoys the most, and will fight til the bitter end to win.

Lol, yeah he is insane. Sometimes, he puts as much as 46 consecutive hours in WvW to get the work done. As a fellow guildie, I have nothing but RESPECT for him.

Please don’t hesitate to join our server. We have one of the most polite community in GW2 and I can say that from my experience while guesting to other servers.

Yak’s could benefit from a medium – large WvW guild here. Lot’s of zerg busting to do here and small havoc/roaming guilds to compliment your rampages across the field.

Make a consideration to come here. Fun folks, people are willing to work with and a large population to recruit.

TFI transfered here about 2 months ago, and we love it. Everybody is insanely nice, and there are a lot of great fights too. Not only do we have a lot of roamers on our server, but we fight servers with pretty decent roaming guilds as well. Great server for any roaming guilds to come to (We’re a roaming guild), but also alot of zergs to be busted like prosecutor said (YB could srsly use another major zerg guild). Transfers are expensive these days, so you’ll want to make sure you get it right on the first try. Luckily we did. Tons of fun, great people, definately the server to be on <3__<3

I believe it was in October when my guild transferred to Yak’s Bend. We have had absolutely no regrets moving to this server. I love the enthusiasm the wvw community has here. It doesn’t matter if we are outmanned or losing the week there is still plenty of heart in this server to keep bringing the fights. If you are even thinking about looking for a new home then you have found the best GW2 has to offer right here.

As others have said the community is accepting and extremely friendly. “Come on in, the water’s fine!”

Yak’s bend is very good at holding their stuff. I recommend guilds to give this server a try!

Yaks Bend could seriously use 1 to 2 more big organized NA guilds. We have some very good small man/havoc groups in Acid, PD, SoCo, and HvC plus more who already do all of the behind the scenes ninja caps honestly some of the best I have seen and are no joke when it comes down to fights. Right now we are holding it down with what we have but to be truly completive in this tier we could use a little more love than any of the other server ranked 4-9. If you want good fights they are here. We constantly get SBI which has several good guilds in Fun, Beags, Abys, and Exs to name a few all love open field fights and most are looking for GvGs. We also get Mags which has some of the toughest guilds I have ever seen in this game with Ark, Pyro, TG plus a lot more which also look for GvGs none stop these guys love to fight and are some of the most fun guilds to fight. We also roll SOS which also has some very good guilds CNB, FW, and of course EP which is one of the best guilds I have had the pleasure of playing against and again most of them look for GvGs. So why join them when you could play against them and take your game to the next level. If you are looking for closer matches look no further then T3 and if you want to make it more balanced Yaks Bend is where you should be looking because if you are a NA guild and transferring to any other server in the T3 rotation all you are doing is upsetting that balance. So if your guild is looking to transfer, looking for good fights, looking for a competitive environment, looking for a balanced match up, looking for GvGs, or a server that never says die and has a ton of heart then Yaks Bend is where you should be looking! Looking for fights? don’t care about PPT? Want to fight against good guilds? Yak’s offers minimal to non existent queues. Most of Yaks like to defend which opens up another dimension for those perfect guilds looking to enjoy fights.

Yak’s seem to be “stuck” in Tier 3 with Maguuma. Go to Yaks please,, the #magswag needs good fights. GVG and open-field is very strong in this tier. List of guilds you would be fighting if you were on Yak’s Bend, youtube any of these guilds and see if you would like to play at this level, BAEGS, Reticle, Retribution, Violent Resolution, Pyro, Arkham, Terror, KH just to name a few.

We really could use another large guild or two that enjoy open field fights and some OCX to round out our server. We really do have a lot of awesome people/guilds that take pride in havoc and defending game play so having more offensive guilds were be awesome.

We still need guilds, now more than ever. I know you all are seeing us go down in rankings and think it is over for us, but that is so far from the truth. We have lost a large guild but that was not due to the server or our community; they just wanted something different and new.

I am sure there are more guilds like that! Come talk to us, come on our forums (changed to www.yaks-bend.com), see for yourself what kind of server we are. We are still the server that surprised everyone by coming in 2nd in the Silver League. Come to a server that works like a family. Our server is full of casuals, YB has very few good players. (inb4 hate) If you want to be relevant in this tier just go to a different server.

I play on this server and will be looking to move. YB was good a year ago when we had guilds like GLOB but now its 1 or 2 guilds that WvW (one being LOOT) and even then most of the players run from every fight or just stand around pressing 1 when siege is being built.

The roaming scene is also dead on this server, there is very few players that roam and those who do barely play.

Of course this is just my opinion and my view on things but i’d really like to stress that any other server in the same tier would be a better move.

Would like to say that i don’t mean do be negative to YB, i’m just helping players who are looking for a new server to make an informed decision.

Waytodawn, it would have been greatly appreciated if you had exercised the good taste to not defame the server’s WvW population in it’s own recruitment thread.

I did not dispute your right to post whatever you wanted, nor did I claim ownership. I pointed out your poor taste in doing so in a server’s recruitment thread.

Feel free to post your views in a thread of your own making. I would dispute it being false advertising. As you pointed out, the thread is full of positive posts in direct contadiction to your opinion. That suggests that your opinion is the exception to the rule.

If we’re so good, why do we have random guilds that just appeared talking up our server that’s in “Dire” need of help. I would point out that consensus is not correctness. There’s a good reason why all the best guilds we’ve ever had have left our server and we’re left with mediocrity. But hey what do i know i’ve only been on yaksbend since the start and seen the failure first hand maybe someday it will change.

If you have always been on Yak’s, then you should know we always pull it out when we need to and we don’t give up. Negativity is not welcome here. And the “good” guilds we lost were bandwagoners who have moved 3+ times since the game came out, and are unhappy no matter where they go. Don’t forget, transfers to lower tier servers are free for the next week and a half if you think we are so “mediocre.” I’ve never put much stock in complainers that don’t have the guts to turn on a tag and lead, or even to contribute to discussion in a meaningful way. So, if you are thinking of moving to Yak’s, don’t listen to the negativity. Talk to me, talk to others. A real Yak will tell you this is an incredible, tight-knit community that won’t give up.

Why not have random guilds talking up the server? Everyone from YB that has spoken on this (except for you two) I have seen in our WvW every day.

Actually, not all of our good guilds have left. But, you are right, there is a good reason they left, they wanted something new; wanted new guilds to learn from and to fight. Most were open field guilds and needed the change to improve their game. Isn’t that what those types of guilds do? Move around so that they can get in the best fights, get good loot and fight different guilds to improve? This is especially important when we are seeing the same match-ups over and over.

Idk what failure you are talking about but I am sorry you two from The Third String feel this way. I do not agree at all. Besides this drama you are trying to start we haven’t had any for almost a full year and our morale is great! I would rather not any start now. I like YB being drama free. lol Though, yes, you have a right to your opinion.
