so i am looking for a new server and wvw guild.

focused on defending a active server.
preferably medium pop

i play thief and ranger

Define what you call an active server… Medium pop servers are medium pop exactly because they have big coverage gaps, and in these gaps the action is usually pretty low.

On Eredon Terrace for exemple, we have groups running during NA EST primetime and some folks running during the day (late OCX/SEA/early EU), but after midnight EST, the activity drops significantly.

i play at random times so i guess i am just looking for the best 24 hour under dog XD

Your best bet problably is a T3 server that will go up to T2 (YB/CD/DB)

Or some high ranked EU server… I don’t know much about EU.

FYI, DB is full as well. Playing during OCX/SEA time, I am yet to see it marked other than full.

Just an FYI TC has been #1 in server rating since practically Season 2. It’s hardly an underdog by definition.
Back on topic though yes if you’re looking for a 24/7 server that might be moving up YB/CD are probably your best bets. DB is [full] most of the time at the moment. Currently the only T2 server growing is SoS but it too is [full] all the time. FA is somewhat of an “underdog” being only [high] population yet ranked #5 if that’s really what you want.
A word to the wise though moving during a season is probably a bad idea. Just give it a few weeks and many server populations as well as ratings will fluctuate.

But also remember that all the servers will go back to their pre-tournament server status next week.

So if you want to move to a server that’s usually “Very High” but was changed to “High” for the tournament, you’d want to move there before the end of the week.

TC has plenty of room for improvement. You definitely would notice it against tier 1 competition.

TC uses Mumble for WvW which suddenly stopped working about a week ago on my system following updates or something. Nothing I have tried has fixed it. You would want to make sure the server you move to has voice comms you can use.

You might want to wait for the post-season shake out. YB is moving to T2 and has a great defense culture but many claim they don’t want that spot. FA, CD, or even Maguuma are probably your best picks (Maguuma imploded but should be a solid mid-tier contender).

Check out Devona’s Rest (DR). I xfered in before season 2 and have found the community to be great. Like large guilds – got that; like small guilds – got that; like roaming/havoc – got that; like dedicated BL defense – yep, got that too. Point is you can find whatever fits your plau style best on DR. Ourr community has grown and stabilized largely because of how everyone treats everyone else…with respect and true dedication to server goals. Every server has drama but DR has the least I’ve experienced and I’ve been in game since the start. Proof? How about the exceptionally small number of guilds that have left server as compared to the many that have actually came over and stayed. DR isn’t a “bandwagon” server, its a fun based community. You could come to AR unless you’re trying to leave then . Anyways, DR is a pretty good server to go to. Sometime around S2-S3 (can’t recall exactly) they started moving up the leaderboards. Now they sit comfortably in Silver Tier after moving out of Bronze Tier. I would assume they’ll be sticking around in Silver for a while so yeah I say check out DR because they are by far the most rapidly expanding server over the past few months.

Love to have you on DR! Getting some lumps in Silver, but giving a few as well. And no matter what anyone else says..I think we are having the best matchup of the S3 right now. Less than 2K separate all 3 servers (DR, SBI, NSP) for most of the week. To be fair…DR, NSP, SBI would all welcome you and would be good choices. However…agree with previous posters..things are going to fluctuate wildly after the seasons…wait a few more weeks if you can.
