Basic harvesting node pack should be larger.
I really don’t think it’s fair, sure none of the home instance nodes are worth the money, but this harvesting node is the worst offender. Unlike trees and ore which you can hit 3 times each, herbs you can only hit once, and they also give out junk items despite using orichalcum tools. For the insane price of 800 gems, there should at least be 9 plants to harvest to make them on par with the rest of the nodes. Or reduce their price from 800 to 250 gems, because this is just silly.
But enough people bought it so they seem to be happy with it. Never touch a running system.

I agree changing the price now would not be good, but I bet those players would be even happier if more plants started showing up in their garden. I don’t think its ok that they all cost the same price but you get 6 resources less.
That’s how all nodes in the world works. That’s why sickles are bought in stacks of 50 and other tools are 100.
Don’t you get between 1-5 resources from a harvesting node, though? I know you do on many of them out in the world.. So you may only “harvest” once, but you might get 5 resources. Dunno what the average would work out to, never really paid that much attention to it.
dont understand why people even buy this – go 1 step out from lionsarch and you find all this for free
selfmade problems
dont understand why people even buy
And that exactly is the problem, nobody buys them because they are practically useless. This is a suggestion to improve them, and in turn more people will buy them. I’m sure tons of people would buy them if they would, lets say, become rich nodes, increasing the amounts they drop or the amount of times you can hit them, which would make them a worthwhile time saver. As they are now, you save a few minutes at best if you really can’t be bothered to take a stroll through level 5 areas.

How exactly are people “cheated”? They get three nodes in their home instance(s) that serve up veggies.
Is it a great deal? No, of course not. But for those who think any of the other nodes-for-gems offerings are tons better, I have a bridge in Kessex Peaks I’d like to sell.
I bought the Basic Harvesting Pack. Yes, I am perfectly aware that it’s “not a good deal”. But I’m the kind of player who likes filling out his “home” as much as possible, and having a vegetable garden does appeal to me.
Besides, the herb node also drops anything from Vanilla to Chili to Rosemary, so you can get pleasantly surprised now and again.
But enough people bought it so they seem to be happy with it. Never touch a running system.
Yeah, you wouldn’t want to improve something so useless that it makes customers never want to buy anything from the Gem Store ever again.
I’ll admit, I should have known better than spending money on this, but I thought just maybe ArenaNet might actually make it useful and provide herbs that their RNG tables make absurdly rare, but naturally I was wrong. Every single day I’m getting nothing but trash from these nodes. So much for thinking I might be able to have some fun again with my cook and explore recipes lacking specific herbs.
And before anyone says just buy the herbs on the TP, if I’m going to do that I might as well just look up recipes on the wiki rather than actually having any FUN with cooking. And I’m not going to waste gold because kitten-ed up RNG drop tables make low level mats like chili peppers 10x more expensive than mats you gather in level 80 zones like Orr.
But as I said, it’s my own fault. I should have known better than to expect this thing to be useful. At least now I know better and I won’t make that mistake of again.
I got this along with every other resource in the home instance. Why.
1. Because I can.
2. It gives me daily gatherer in 2 mins
3. I can concentrate on other aspects of the game that I like PvP/WvW (yes I can get daily gatherer in WvW. Although no nodes in PvP)
So for me these items are convenience items which amazingly I find convenient.
PS I get chilli more often than not from the herbs and yams more often than not from the Root veg node

Misinformation like this is something I can’t stand.
You left out the fact that you need ALL of the other nodes to get Daily Gatherer in 2 mins. Deliberately misleading statements like that make me suspect your claim about getting chilis ‘more often than not’ from the herb node, I have it as well and I doubt the RNG is any different for you, but then it is the Internet so why should any kind of accuracy be expected.
It’s probably just RNG at work. I’ve yet to see Chilis drop from the herb node, but I can confirm that Vanilla, Sage and Rosemary drop from it. I’d say the drop table includes all possible herb drops from Herb Seedlings, Herb Sprouts and Young Herbs from all different regions.

There are two errors of fact in your reply. The very first sentence said that he got the other nodes.
Also, you don’t need to buy every other node if you got the upgrades from Living Story. For instance Candy Corn node, sprocket generator, crystal formation, ore nodes and herbs are enough to get there without the trees.
I would accuse you of spreading deliberate misinformation, but I think it best if we give others the benefit of the doubt, so I’ll just assume you made a couple of honest mistakes.
Here’s 1 thing they dropped the ball when they had the toxic event they could have made a toxic plant that we can get thru a meta or some other means like when they did their festival of winds story so we can harvest it for toxic sample’s all year round.

Where is the misinformation? I state that I have all the other resource (which gives me more than daily gatherer)
I get chillis every few days (more often than not) and you know RNG is RNG, some people get more precursor than others (yes it happens)
Please dont attack my post as mis information as my experience is going to be different to everyone else.

These can still be harvested in kessex (although not sure of the drop rates) so that might be a reason why these havent appeared (yet) as a trade post item or any ingame purchase (laurels etc)
