I’ve bought gems before without any issues (some several days ago, actually), but neither my wife nor I can buy any now — clicking “Trade” just redirects to an empty page. I thought this might just be a “server overload” issue, but others in map-chat say they’re not having any problems.

Same issue. I have relogged to try and reset the TP but I cannot buy gems with gold. Redirects to an empty TP page.

Same problem. Trading in game gold for gems gives (“error” : “invalid data”).

Trading gold for gems is what I’m meaning. If the OP is getting the same blank page I am I assume he is doing what I am trying to do.

I cannot exchange gold for gems. The trading post gives the error invalid data.

Oops! Yes, I was referring to trading gold → gems. :-)

It is only when you try to trade with certain amounts

For us (wife and I), it doesn’t matter if we trade for 1 gem, or 2400+.

I have the same problem. I can’t trade gold for gems. It keeps giving me an error.

When you say “buy gems”, do you mean clicking the “Buy Gems” button in the Gem Store? Or trading gold for gems in the Currency Exchange?

I mean gold to gems like the others. Sorry for the confusion.

I just patched to the new build and the error remains.

Exchange comes up. I’m able to enter an amount but executing it appears to fail. No message, page is simply blank.

At least no coin was deducted.

Ditto; I still can’t exchange any amount of gold for gems.

Still won’t go through, and I’m still getting the following message:

Still can’t and it doesn’t matter what the amount of gold is that I try to convert.

The page no longer loads to me, and I’m taking this to mean that maintenance is in progress. Thank you, ArenaNet!

Ok, we are looking into possible problems with the Currency Exchange. This doesn’t happen all the time. It is only when you try to trade with certain amounts. We don’t have all the information yet, but we’re investigating and I’ll let you all know when we believe we have it fixed.

I like you, Janson Smalling and Sarah Witter. Your frequent and friendly updates on this matter while it was being sorted out was a very welcome sight. I hope to see more of such frequent input (from you both and from others) on other such matters of immediate importance as well as on those of lesser importance.

Yes it’s working now for me as well.

It’s still not working for me. Since the patch I can’t buy gems with paypal and or visa (tried different cards/accounts, IP addresses).

I still get an error at the end of the purchase

Hello, I didn’t mean to resurrect a dead thread, but it seems that after the last update, a few days ago, I’ve been completely unable to access the Currency Exchange panel.
If I click on the Currency Exchange button in the TP interface, a blank screen appears. No images, no buttons, nothing.
Every other Black Lion functionality is working correctly – Gem Store, Trading Post, Sell On Trading Post…
I’ve asked a guildmate if he too is having trouble with the Currency Exchange, but he said that it seems to be working for him.
