I played a lot of Gw 2 last 2 months, and where it seems i had always good drops with mixed white, blue and green items, and somethimes yellow items the only thing that drops right now are white an blue crap.
I play moistly with an elementist, even wenn i boost my MF to max it won’t get me better loot.
Playing PvP wasn’t that rewarding to start with now it’s so low for me I don’t want to play at all anymore.

Gaming is always a way to spend you’re time while you have the illusion of getting better meanwhile, that illusion is really broken.
Please wake me wenn you guys got the drops fixed to a point where it start being rewarding again, in the meanwhile i’ll go playing other games as this big and huge downer is starting to get me.

Look up the phrase “confirmation bias”. I’m not saying there isn’t an issue with drop rates, but citing numbers of posts that support your view doesn’t actually prove it.

It does when you’re trying to confirm people are not delusional.

Generally you can confirm something is “real” when a significant number of people observe it.

when was the last time over 2000 people were kitten enough to go post in a thread?

Was it a real in-game issue then?

And what about people not having an issue? They won’t post at going “omg… drops are unchanged”.

Again, not saying there isn’t an issue, but citing post count isn’t evidence.

I think the biggest issue isn’t that there was a change in the loot parameter but, there was an actual change or more people are hitting the diminishing returns curve of loot.

the point is that this could just be a string of bad luck. if there are say, 1 million people playing GW2 (made up number) then, though statistical probability, there will be those who have atrociously bad luck. they attribute that bad luck to a change in loot parameter, and a thread is born. other people with similar luck come on to report there claim, which keeps the thread going.

To put the situation in perspective, I like to buy Bags of Goods (of all types) from the AH to restock on goods for crafting. A Yellow drops out of the bag about 1 out of 40-60 bags? Sometimes more, sometimes less.

This means that you probably don’t see one till about the 50th kill drop you preform. That seems fine to me.

I just has an insane Fractals of the Mist run on difficulty 10.

3 exotics
3 rares
1 lodestone
4+ cores

…oh, and an ascended ring for good measure.

This was wearing about 60% MF and running peach tarts because I had some laying around.

(I got more oranges and yellows than I got blues!)

Only thing I didn’t get was a precursor .

Pesky ol’ RNG!

I’ve dropped more items in lvl10 fractal than lvl30-40, I DON’T know what is going on, REALLY. It’s so much intriguing, weird for my mere human mind.

Its interesting you say that, because I know I drop more cores in difficulty 1-4 than I do running difficulty 10 regularly. In my experience rares pretty much cease to exist above level 7. That’s part of why I was so stunned, I typically get jack squat out of difficulty 10 runs (other than the dashed hopes for an ascended ring – this one was my first).

I’m pretty much drowned in statistics for my degrees. RNG is RNG, RNG ceases to be Random when you go a month after a specific patch with loot quality radically reduced.

If I plotted this it would clearly pass a chow break-point test, and look like the jobs numbers from 2006 to 2009.

Given that it only hits about 30-40% of my guildies (along with myself), while the others are fine, I’m going with the theory that DR is being triggered, or some permanent “bot-flag” is being placed on accounts that shouldn’t be.

That’s possible. I recall there was a bug with dungeon DR staying on for some people despite the length of time since they’d last run a dungeon. Perhaps something similar is occurring here.

It appears you all are not alone. Myself and many of my guild mates have experienced this drop in loot ever since Mid-November at least. According to the Nov 15 notes there was a problem with the loot drops world wide and they would be fixing the problem.

From Nov 15th notes:
“The drop rarity of Rare and Exotic weapons from certain places in the world (champions, veterans, and players in WvW) has been increased. Rares and Exotics should be much more likely to drop and every champion should be guaranteed to drop loot. This was to ensure that world loot drops were not a significantly worse way of acquiring rare and exotic items than crafting and running dungeons.”

To-date, I’ve not seen any of the drop increases discussed in the notes. Here is the link to the notes mentioned above.
