I am most kittened off this morning! Logged in, got my last few gold to get Emberglow, and It’s more than doubled in price over night! From 16G to 35G, and I believe it’s due to the AC Dungeon becoming….A bit harder? Not sure if thats an understatement but it’s annoyed me quite a bit! I know it’s just me ranting but I didn’t know where to put this, be it the Dungeon, BLTC, or Crafting forum. In other news, is there anything else that has increased as a result of the dungeon changes?

Why would AC becoming harder make an impact on the value of a specific item?

You can only get the recipie for it through AC and you need tokens to make it.

Price increase is likely with skins like that anyway because of the new preview option. Didn’t expect such a high spike though.

I’ve tried to see this in a lighter manner, some bugger thinks I should save more for my Sunrise.

This item isn’t exclusive to AC. I’m certain it drops in CoF as well.

If it’s market manipulation, then you can just wait it out. If the price doesn’t fall, then its not market manipulation, just market forces at work.

It’s most likely because we now have ‘preview’ on the TP that was added in yesterdays patch/update. All cool weapon skins doubled over night.

Deathwish went from 12 gold to 44 gold. They will never go back down in price, just up from here on out.

I believe that was mostly market speculation and panic-purchasing. The prices for many of these items have leveled out to just barely above their pre-patch prices because the demand for them hasn’t really gone up, just the supply has been shortened for awhile by speculators.

tl;dr: Put in a buy order 1c above the next highest buy order and keep doing this until you get it. You will.

I think Geikamir’s got it right. I follow the buy/sell values of named staves pretty closely, and the visually cool ones (e.g., Deathwish, Emberspire) went up, while the less-so (Bramblethorn) went down.

I didn’t even know there was a “recipe” for Emberglow. Thought it was just a named exotic drop. I’ve had one drop from the Slave Driver in CoF as well as off an enemy invader in WvW.

I didn’t even know about Emberglow and Deathwish until now… Now that the previews are in the TP, I agree that skins are going to go up.

There are people out there who can afford to trade in Legendaries. Remember, just to put one up on the Trading Post, these people have to pay several hundred gold just in listing fees.

Buying up the stock of some Exotic is no problem.

Yesterday only one Emberglow was listed for the price of 79 g. Now there are 24 Emberglows lieted for around 24 g

Emberglow is now 19 gold that I have seen today.
