Endless Black Quaggan Tonics
Perhaps just speculation of the items being discontinued tomorrow if the alliance bags and the LA assault go away.
Though I also heard someone in game saying something about “Scarlet’s twitter” mentioning quaggan tonics and how she needs them for phase 3 of her plan or something. Not sure if he was just being funny or if such a thing actually exists and did actually mention it, but if it is real then that could also have something to do with it.

Ahh, kitten . I sold mine for 3g just a few days ago, and that was already posting it above the current market value.
Actually, that’s still a problem that needs to be fixed. I put it in WvW section instead of Game Bugs because technically it IS working… it’s just allowing a very annoying exploit. Still not sure if this whole thing is the result of crazy speculation or some whole guild buying the Tonics to exploit WvW, since 100 can all stand in that one spot together without becoming any more visible than a single person would be.
It’s WvW… where people were paying 30s (or whatever) for a reindeer tonic just to be able to dash cheat away. I wouldn’t put it those types of players to go and grab these for any sort of an advantage lol

Of anything that’s an investment from this event, it’s the tonics. I bought 1000 standard ones at 6-8 copper each. Once this event is over, even if it’s another 2 weeks of getting bags (though I doubt since we won’t be rescuing anyone, we’ll be taking back the city), these quaggan potions have serious growth potential.
Same with back piece blue print pieces and the scarlett war tonics. Show me any other consumable that gives you -10%/+10 damage versus 4 different enemy types? Or show me an easier way to get an exotic back piece? You can say Grenth all you want but you gotta get there first.
LA up levels everyone so acquisition of the blade shards, which I promise will continue in the next patch, is easy for everyone, the blueprints may or may not be dropping in loot bags in the next patch. Haven’t seen anything on Dulfy yet, anyone know?

The Blueprints are pretty useless, if you cant obtain blade shards anymore.

I don’t know how much time you’ve spent in LA doing events but I’ve made 3 exotic backpieces and still have 3500 shards (I was leveling a thief, really easy there). Unless people have destroyed them, at which point I agree with your point, until that supply runs out, players still need the blueprint. I am only holding what drops, I haven’t bought any but I will be watching them closely.

usually you get more blueprints than blade shards to make an ascended piece. So why would people get rid of their blueprints and keep the shards?

Interesting, out of 100 bags, I will average about 4 blueprints and 100+ shards. And, the shards seem to be so prevalent, there may be another use for them whereas once you’ve outfitted your toon with the spinal piece, why would you need the blueprint so you would sell it. Dunno what will happen, patch is loading right now!
Well, Blade Shards will permanently drop from aetherblades.

Price is back to normal. The drop rate is too high.

Yep. That tells me I can safely junk the excess stacks I’m getting too. If it’s permanently obtainable, it won’t ever be tradable, and it’s highly unlikely it will be “sold back/donated” for bonus coin or items after LS Season 1 is over.

New recipes might be introduced though.

Hmm… That’s a fair point. You’d think they would have introduced it by now as it’s the last chapter in the Living Story though. Maybe I’ll hang onto them till March 18. Possibly longer if Blade Shards get a collectible tab (that’s usually a dead giveaway).
imo bad investment. Items that don’t get soulbound never rise that much. Although I suppose the power of quaggan could trump that, I don’t think it’s likely. Do you know how many of these things are floating around? That supply will never diminish.

Quaggan awesomeness aside, these will still increase. Even if, say 10k drop per day, that’s still 280k total of an item that everyone will want. Plus, there is a recipe that combines 10 of each endless to create a mystery tonic, which will further decrease numbers and increase price. In short, buy now.
(But wait, you ask. Is this post but a shameless attempt to inflate their price? Seems we will never know!)
Because quaggans are the most OP species. They can even kill Lupi in less than 5 minutes.

The quaggan potions are already climbing, black is over 20 copper again. Blueprint pieces have all crossed over a silver again, the scarlet tonic is still dirt cheap though….

10 of each endless quaggan tonic to make 1 endless mystery quaggan tonic.

Why the hell would anybody use a recipe requiring 40 1g tonics to make one 10g tonic? This requires endless mystery quaggan tonic to quadruple in price before anybody would dream of using the recipe and thus destroy any supply of the lesser ones. And furthermore, if the cheap tonics rise in price that just makes the recipe all the more unappealing. Basically you need the recipe to be profitable for prices to rise… but if prices rise the recipe won’t be profitable. I trust in human stupidity, but only to a point. If prices do rise it won’t be because of this useless recipe, but merely because the tonics may be undervalued currently (but hell they could even be overvalued with how many there are).

I hate to disappoint you but the alliance bags also drop as a reward for pvp tournaments. And i think that reward is a permanent addition and will not cease in 2 weeks.

To be fair, the loot tables could be altered. Either way, I don’t think the tonics will really increase in value that much. I thought at first they had a chance if they would have stopped dropping after the last LS installment, but now that they are still dropping, I think they will be pretty much worthless in two weeks.
