Female Clothing
and add a bikini or underwear dye, i’m tired of yellow.
As far as I am aware, women also wear shirts and hoodies. They’re creating gender unbiased skins so that both can use them. They’re not going to create tube tops that are female exclusive, or something like that. If they do sweet swimming gear, it’s going to be something like a ‘swimsuit’ that both genders and all races can enjoy in their own way.
They had male/female versions of outfits in Guild Wars 1.

Just as examples. Almost all their costumes had a male/female version. They could design outfits that looked different, depending on whether your character was male or female. Sort of like how the cook outfit changes according to race. On my Sylvari, it’s leafy. On my other character, it’s cloth.
Edit: my guess the problem is the multiple races. They have to design at least 5 different versions of each outfit as is. If you make a male/female version then it’s the 2 separate designs then another 5 designs, so it adds up. A lot simpler just to make a unisex version.

The female outfit is especially important for asura as otherwise our outfits are all male, on either gendered avatar. My winter dress is the only item in existence for us that actually has a skirt when we wear it.
A lot of us don’t want automatically gendered outfits, though. I have no problem with there being separate items available that are traditionally feminine, but I hate it when outfits look super-different on my female character than it would on a male one. For instance, I have a pirate-themed female human character, but I don’t like the way that the cash shop pirate outfit goes super-skimpy just because she’s female.
Sure, release two styles of outfit and let people buy whichever one they prefer for their character. Don’t release one outfit that gives players no choice as to how it appears according to gender.

So, you are suggesting maybe a “masculine” version and a “feminine” version that both sexes can wear? You are likely to get men in dresses with that. ^^ Wouldn’t bother me but I can see how that might stir up a few people.
I’m not looking for things like tank tops or even silly bathing suits. But what does interest me are the clothing that i see on the female N PCs walking around town. For example the beautiful dresses that the human nobility wear. Wearing a hoodie is all fine and dandy but a dress or two wouldn’t hurt also. heck even let the males wear them. It doesn’t have to be geneder exclusive

Doesn’t bother me either. And I don’t think there need to be “masculine” and “feminine” versions of everything released on the shop. Various different pieces are fine, and I agree with previous posters that some lovely dresses would be a great addition to the shop. I just want to be able to pick exactly what I look like (for instance, being able to buy the smart shirts that were just released—I’m wearing one of those right now!) instead of seeing everything turn into something different when I put it on a female character. Especially when the “female” version of costume outfits often translates into something much skimpier than the “male” version.
Sounds like some of you just want revealing town clothes.
Not like there’s female/male versions of each armour or anything…right? So pretending like there isn’t, isn’t going to change that.

Not even close in the range of things. As a matter of fact the Armor choices are far more revealing then that of the clothing worn by the Npcs. I dont think its that far of a stretch to have the fashions of the NPCs available for players to purchase.

As someone who bought every single costume pack in COH, I’m with you on this one. I would like more town clothes options that look like leisure clothes appropriate to Tyria (i.e. not hoodies or ball caps). Yes I’m a dragon slaying hero when I’m outside the city, but that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t be able to own a party dress.

It’s lazy and uncreative.
It’s just one person doing one size fits all clothes to save time.

I don’t agree – you have 5 different races and two genders to accommodate, even if there isn’t that much variation in the clothes, it’s not a little bit of work to get clothing to work on 10 different models, and make sure you don’t have any texture stretching or nasty seams. I’m sure the dye system also increases the work.
Maybe if the style was more cartoonish like WoW where so few folks seemed to notice the awful texture problems with some of the armors, they could knock a bunch of skins out, but with the style of GW2 I don’t think it would be so easily overlooked.
If you’re going to sell something in the gem store, it’s got to be pristine.
