First 3 Infinite Tools now in store
Are they even worth it? 1000 gems cost around 100g, and 100 orichalcum mining picks only cost 4s. :O

Eh..I was hoping that the ones I have bought before became account bound as well. but nope still soul bound orz.

They’re more of a convenience item, since I think it was already proven by other people that it would take years of harvesting to make the cost of these worth it(mind you, this was back when they were for 800 gems each).
They did, sort of.
But the game treats both the acount-bound and soul-bound as a seperate item. So for a while Arenanet offered people with the soul-bound gathering tool to exchange it at a vendor in LA for the acount-bound version, free of charge.
I guess you missed that. That was some time ago now, dont know if that npc is comming back.
on topic:
Why would someone get the miningpick? When they might very well get the sprocket harvesting pick later down the line for the same amount of gems?
Sprockets, last i checked, were well over 2s. Thats a significant bonus to your mining.

As mentioned, un-equip your currently soulbound infinite tools into your inventory and then talk to the Black Lion Weapons Specialist next to most Trading Post agents. You will receive the ability to exchange it for the account bound version. This ability has been available for many months.

it’s so strange that these just pop up in the middle of the week. I hope we see other items do this as well.

And when those 800 gems costed something like 25-30g
The sickle is also faster than normal ones (wait for incoming P2W whine-thread)
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
What’s with the price increase anyway?
I support Tengu as a playable race.

They are now account bound, so they cost more (because you “need” less of them than before).
Were there any promos for them in the past?
I think in January you could buy all 3 bundled together for a discounted price.

I think it is that way for all infinite harvesters. The Consortium golf club and the Golem harvester both go faster than the sickles.

Nope, I can surely tell cause I dint recieve mail.

But what’s the point if you’re doing this to earn gold? plus if you’re playing on multiple characters then it’s easier to buy from a merch than tossing tools through characters so buying these tools you’re losing even more money. IMHO harvesting isn’t profitable, I’m not even wasting time to stop to harvest. That’s my 2 cents to people who are considering buy endless tools to earn money.
I hope and pray the Watchwork Pick comes back out. Not that I need it or anything, since I have the Molten one. I’m more interested in the forum debates that will surely pop up.
I’m looking forward to them not selling ANY molten picks since they are defective compared to the exact same price Watchwork picks.
I’m sure a few people don’t know that a better pick exists/will likely be available. And then we’ll have an all new crowd of irritated players when they find out.
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

For anyone who doesn’t know, those of us who have had these tools for a while and have them soulbound: Go to a Black Lion Weapons Specialist. Unequip your soulbound tools to inventory. Talk to the Specialist and select the option to upgrade your soulbound gathering tools.
What’s the difference between the watchwork & molten one?

This. Only because I love getting a kickback from my watchwork pick. Honestly, the beauty of infinite tools is a unique skin/animation AND you never have to use backpack space for a pick, scythe or axe again and will never run out mid-node.
Only the watchwork can pay for itself, the rest is pure convenience.

Like most things in gem store it’s pure cosmetic. People buy them for the convenience of never having to take up bag space or run out as well as the special harvest effect

The Sickle is a little more than pure cosmetic, since she is faster. Helps alot for farming those herbs without having to fight against annoying Raptors

The Animation is a bit different (molten sprouts lava up, and the watchwork pick sprouts electricity wich explodes after 3 times harvesting). And the watchwork pick has a 20% chance (independant of the chance for jewels to drop) to produce a watchwork sprocket per harvest.
No excuse anymore for not giving ‘hide mounts’-option
No thanks to unidentified weapons.

thats why I say mostly. There are small benefits but nothing game breaking
Indeed, they are not. However, it’s also important not to let it get to the point where they DO become game breaking.
If the Watchwork Pick came back at this point AND the bonus remained, I’d seriously consider upgrading my 5 Molten Tools to the Watchwork Pick. I do a lot of harvesting, and all those spare Sprockets could come in handy either as additional income or as raw mats for fueling my journey to r500 crafting.
