Green Quaggan Backpack and Mini Mr. Sparkles
It is for those who spend real cash on the gems only. It’s ANet’s way of thanking players who contribute real money to them. You might feel it’s unfair, but one group of players is paying for ANet’s ongoing staff wages and other expenses, the other isn’t.
Will either of these be tradeable? or do they both come account bound.

I don’t think they’ve said whether the items would be account bound or not, but I think that’s a fair assumption to make at this point.
Mr Sparkles is account bound for sure. I got one from a PAX code.

You must use gem cards or credit cards to acquire the gems. Converting gold into gems does not count.

Is the quaggan back pack a one time use item? I doubled clicked on it to equip it and it acted like it was a skin and could only be used once. I was hoping it was like the zenith skins and you could use it over and over.

No, it is indeed a “normal” skin. You can still transmute it to another backpiece though.

You need transmutation crystals, which you can buy in the gem store.

spent over 4k gems last month.. other people started getting their gifts in the game-mail
this is just another nail in the coffin, i spend hours on this game and refuse to spend real world money on it until ArenaNet starts treating their casual gamers with the same amount of consideration as they do their flavor of the month cash-crop customers

Casual gamers had every chance to purchase 4,000 Gems to get the exclusive bonuses. So in essence, both Casuals and Hardcores are treated the same. And just remember, purchasing Gems is completely optional. If you don’t want to spend any money on this game, you’re free to convert in game Gold for Gems.

hugely disappointing, it works in theory but if they are going to offer real world money items then sell them for real world money not gems.. and if they want to make it some seasonal thing, then offer 3 ‘tri colored keys’ or something with corresponding redemption codes.. each containing something trivial but all 3 being used to open some actual prize at some given time, after wintersday for example. as it stands, some people are feeling frustrated over the credit issues
Ive recieved my quag. backpack but not mr. sparkles…..who do i talk to about this?
I know quite a few people who bought the 4000 who didn’t get sparkles and people who only bought 800 and did get sparkles. Kind of a slap in the face to those who went ahead and threw down the money.
