Duo to this surge of RNG boxes, people have become disappointed with the game, and both ArenaNet and BLTC image was ruined.

I have a simple solution to fix this problem. Both players and ArenaNet would benefit from this solution.

I propose the introduction of Red/VIP Gems. And before the rage starts I’ll explain it.

- Normal Gems can be converted to Gold, and Gold can be converted to Gems.
- Red/VIP would not be allowed to convert to Gold, nor Gold to Red/VIP Gems.

Red/VIP Gems could only be used to buy Skins and special items, but for half the price.

You could still convert Gold to Normal Gems and buy RNG Boxes, or buy Normal Gems and convert them to Gold.

Example:

Jade Weapon Ticket – 4000 Normal Gems / 2000 Red/VIP Gems.

You can convert 100g~ to Normal gems (which is the average amount of money you have to spend on RNG to get a ticket) and buy the Ticket if you hate RNG, or you can buy 2000 VIP Gems for 20 bucks and buy it.

You could still play on RNG if you like gamble.

With this solution, ArenaNet would increase their income, players would be happier and there would be another Gold Sink in the game.

I can’t see a reason not to implement this solution.

EDIT: I won’t spend money on RNG because I know it sucks, but if ArenaNet had this solution I would easily spend 200euros and buy all the skins. I know you guys would do the same.

Who’s doing mod’s job? Informing the rest of those that are willing to share an opinion on this thread, that there is already a thread with the same “Exact” content in another place is doing’s Mod’s Job?

If there is disappointment with the game because of RNG boxes, perhaps the fix is for people to learn what RNG means.

Since it would cost half as many red/vip gems to buy a skin as it would to buy it with normal gems, would red/vip gems cost twice as much to buy with real money?

I think the solution is just to simply allow skins to be purchased directly with gems. Forget this whole red/vip gems thing it doesn’t seem to make sense…

UNLESS you intend to eliminate the ability for normal gems to be purchased with real money and only make them able to be purchased with gold. Then the red/vip gems would be real money only. That is the only logical conclusion that allows this thread to make sense.

If these boxes aren’t bringing in significant real money into Anet’s coffers, they would have stopped offering them. They have been evolving.

F&F – BL Chest contained the skin

SoSS – Consortium Chests had the skin and they could drop, rarely, from critters

DB – Two Chests, one that drop frequently containing a much lower chance at everything that’s in the gem chest. But the skin is still rare even in the gem chest.

The RNG boxes will keep happening until people learn some sense of self control. That being said, Anet doing this is our fault for not sending them the right messages. Until we start doing that the only people to blame for this is ourselves. We can cry and complain all we want but until we come together as a collective and send the message that needs to be sent we’ll be seeing this practice until the end of time. If they start losing out on money and things turn for the worse for them, its a risk that needs to be made.

All of the “shady practices” and “bad corporate behavior” that keeps continuing isn’t their fault, its ours.
