It's raining ectos!

The demand is slowly falling down because it takes on average about a month to craft ascended armor. With many already completing the task, they have no need for excess they bought, therefore unloading extra supplies on the Trading Post. I think we’ll starting to see the balancing coming into place after the initial rush.

I had forgotten spidy and couldn’t see supply/demand history (must have accidentally dragged only like an hour somewhere) on gw2trader well enough – thanks!

For what it’s worth, on Wednesday I had a surprisingly low ecto salvage rate. Yesterday, I had an abnormally high.

I’ve seen similar results, but I didn’t track them to see if there’s a pattern. Some days/times seem to yield well, others are horrendous.

It’s just RNG.
It’s natural for people/animals to try to find a pattern even if one doesn’t exist.

Yup, Skinner was clearly seeing patterns where none existed
Funny, I see silk still rising in priceā¦or at leats not going below 2s yet. Well, I’ll just wait till Summer to craft my Ascended armor.
Sell everybody, sell!!!
Seriously though, wasn’t that the point of this post?
What you are like seeing is people creating hard liquidity in anticipation of the new patch. If precursors tank, you have gold to buy lots of them. If newly introduced “insert product X” starts out low, you stock up on those etc.
People are not anticipating a drop on ectos. If anything, ectos will go through the roof once precursor crafting goes live.
imo you can never have too many ectos. I keep 3 stacks around just in case. Precursor crafting, ascended armor, ascended runes or infusions. No matter what they introduce it will almost certainly use ectos and possibly in large quantities, and they hold their value.
People are probably trying to up their capital before the next patch, there are those crucial 15-20 minutes where you can make a killing if you have the capital and the rapid clicking skills.
maybe people are doing the Worldtour since they had plenty of time to do the LS.

Basically this^^^
And if you check the graph on spidy, its a text book example of how a market finds its equilibrium again.
While supply:demand ratio was at 1:3 around patch day 5 weeks ago, it was 1:1 on friday with supply now higher than demand.
Price will go down until we get relevant news about future updates.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
It is probably less ‘people finished their sets’ and more ‘people stopped bothering due the ridiculous cloth prices’.

Aberrant is probably talking about the pidgeons, not the behaviorist.

This. Since there hasn’t been any LS to chase after a large number of server do the “World Boss Train” at reset which can leave you with a good ammount of ecto at the end. Multiply that by the ammount of players doing it and you have a big supply of ecto coming in everyday.

Actually, if any manipulation was intended, it was for ppl to buy the heck out of them… I got stacks up there that are tens of thousands of sales away – so I am watching them sit still gathering mold.

Yah, yesterday I was looking at numerous materials – most of which were realigning to what they were in like october-ish – it really is a bit creepy how that happens without prompting.

Yes but the larger the thing you’re observing the less it matters (this is especially true if the pigeon is massive – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aH53ofk5ESk).
