NEW ITEMS ON TP account bound POWER TRADER
Sounds like further limits to trading etc incoming, traders will be reeling about this depending on how its designed. Time will tell, would love clarification.
I usually never buy over 1250. Can they please fix so I can buy in 1000’s though. Would be a lot easier than always doing the 250 x5 times.
Apparently its new as of nov 3rd. Wonder what ANET has up its sleeve, how it will affect us traders, and if its their way of responding to bots and goldsellers manipulating the TP.
Power Trader
Stat Reset
Sealed Package of Snowballs
RC Controller
Personal Black Lion Merchant Express
Name Change Contract
BWE Transform Weapon 1,2,3,4
The TP has been static since launch which really surprised me given how poor the UI is. I had been expecting an update so hopefully we will be seeing a raft of things to manage the economy better – power trader might be great at managing the bots and have minimal impact on your average player….
Anyone flipping crafting items though…this might be a good time to exit the market
Huh. Might be interesting, as long as it doesn’t impact normal players.
It sounds like it might be a catch-all solution to TP sales by botters, high-volume item flipping, and sales of duped items (if anything like that becomes a problem).
I’m hoping that this is merely an enhancement for the traders that will allow them to buy more items in bulk. If they limit number of trades or the amount traded, I think they’ll cause more problems for the people who enjoy the TP game (myself included). It would be a shame to limit yet another way people have found to make decent money.
If they do restrict something like this though, I would wager that exotic prices will go through the roof as flipping weapons / armor will become the primary source of flipping income. If that happens, it would likely also be met by a rise in the cost of crafting materials as well since fewer will be posted.
If the aim of this is to address some of the botting issues, I fear it will be too heavy-handed and push more legitimate players away. Only time will tell…
I really hope it does because then the traders can have DR too. All is fair right.
It would be very nice to bring this in line with everything else and maybe take a shot at the botters/manipulators.
If this goes live (with the implied restrictions to normal trading) it will cause the TP to inflate massively.
Currently high frequency traders and salvagers are the only thing keeping prices low. If each account can only list 4000 items then supply will disappear overnight.
I’m amazed that ANet would think that market restrictions are a good idea.

I think this had awesome potential and could eventually lead to a tax-reduction on that “hidden 10%” for Casuals that everyone claims is so unfair to casuals. (but I don’t want to speculate too much like everyone else is doing here, speculation threads make me feel like the Devs are watching us in the Shower)

A rise in price for all goods across the board is unavoidable imo. As soon as Anet does a mass ban on botter prices will rise quickly on everything.

Keep in mind, though, that a large amount of gold is generated by bots, and while it will decrease the supply of items if bots are banned, it will decrease the supply of gold as well, which can (potentially) counteract the increase in price.
This doesn’t really affect me personally. I don’t know how it would work but assuming it’s no listing more than 4 listings of the same item (i.e 1000 max) I find it more profitable to get moderate amounts of a wide variety of goods and rarely have interest in buying and selling large amounts of the same item.
But it’s good for the economy that some people do. I do call into question the possibility of a reduction in total transactions on the TP because of this. Less total transactions means less opportunities for the TP to take that 15% cut, removing gold from the game. I think it could be very significant.
What WOULD be obnoxious for a lot of people is having it just be “4 listings” rather than “1000 of the same item”. Then you’re talking about needing to wait before listing things until you have a stack ready, instead of just putting itup as you get it. That’d get annoying real quick.

probably new items with next update.
