Orichalcum Ore prices suddenly tanked today
Somebody who had lots of stock, sold it to buy orders.

some people stocked up months ago for someday “precursor crafting patch” or “jeweller patch” or “megaserverthing will rise the price” and so on … nothing happend so they throw it back to the marked cause its dead capital …. and when you have to wait tooo long the profit can´t be high enough to not be a loss anyway

I’d go as far as pointing toward the Foxfire introduction being the culprit. People have been farming tree nodes in malchor’s leap and any Orichalcum nodes nearby have been harvested as well. After several weeks people have stocked up on T6 ore and prices are more likely to decrease rather than increase.
Personally the four stacks of Orichalcum ore I had on buy order from the last time it dipped got filled yesterday. It’ll be interesting to see how low it’ll go before bouncing back.

I still have a stack of Orichalcum ore in my sales list for i 6.15 silver or so that i posted shortly before the foxfire patch .. so its already quite some months that the price went down.

Probably the Foxfire farming. Also, Elder wood is hitting the floor in price right now because of all the cypress farms.

i hope they do never soemthing like this foxfire thing again
now ALL t5 mats worthless – t5 wood 10c, mithril ore 25c and leather 8c
they should do something to help this prices and not trash them

I’m a big fan of the current T5 prices. It has made certain crafting schemes much more profitable.

They actually did it again with Sunstone .. but i’m not sure how much impact that
really had in prices of iron ore .. also i don’t know why platinum is also falling like
crazy now

The part that gets me is that this illustrates how worthless the T5 → T6 promotion recipes are. In theory you would have expected that as prices dipped low enough, people would start buying the T5s to do material promotions and keep the prices up slightly, but this is clearly not happening (or not happening to any significant degree).
Also helpful would be the ability to downgrade materials.
Yeah .. t5 wood → to t6 is still a loss even with t5 wood at NPC price.

Platinum: demand suddenly fell from 350k to 125k for ore last week. That didnt have an immediate impact on prices, so i guess a bunch of buy orders was cancelled is more likely than a bunch of buy orders being filled.
Apart form that, i think some collectible achievements, for the ogre, hylek etc. weapons require darksteel ingots to craft. Many people already finished those achis by now so demand is dying down.

Prices of darksteel were however for a long time higher than before we even got those
collections. I sold 1-2 stacks of darksteel nearly every day .. and the price was more or
less stable over the last half year.
But maybe its also just people that have horded masses in hope of ascended jewlery
and finally given up.
