And I only see them going higher. Is there going to be anyway to attain these outside of luck? People know they are in demand and they are going to squeeze the community for as much as they can get. There is no easy way to farm these. I wouldn’t be surprised if they shoot up to 3g per eventually, pretty much making the legendary hammer unattainable.

Even lodestones are somewhat farmable. It would be nice to see silver doubloons in more chests like cores, or make them craftable from resources.

You realize that other gifts need really expensive stuff? Nothing like 30s, 2g each…

If you are referring to charged lodestones, they are more available than silver doubloons, they are just in higher demand atm, even unidentified dyes have a higher drop rate.

The point being, eventually the demand for silver doubloons will supersede that of any other resource on the TP because they are impossible to farm, and people rarely come across them from endgame play. It’s probably been two months since I’ve looted one…and I play a lot.

Let me help put this into perspective. Two weeks ago they were 2s a piece…I can only imagine what they will be in two more weeks.

Ah trust me you are not first today…
I knocked down prices 4 times today, but this is first time it went over 50s for longer time.
Its complete crap that tier 2 item (lvl 20) currently costs 80s, while gold one that is tier 3 and made from silver one still hangs around 5s.
But guess that wont last long since number of orders for gold doubloons is going up also.

250 Silver Doubloons are needed for the Gift of Quicksilver, which is needed for crafting the Juggernaut legendary hammer.

The thing that mainly strikes me as odd is why Copper Doubloons can’t be transmorgrified into Silver Doubloons. Silvers can be upgraded to Golds, and Golds to Platinum, but Coppers are the odd one out. Seems like an oversight to me.

This has became an increasingly glaring problem. All the doubloons need to be craftable and/or forgeable and not rely on RNG chests or bags.

I normally don’t complain about this stuff, but Anet needs to intervene. The price is not the real issue, the real issue with all the doubloons is that they are not attainable through any means, that makes them a prime target for market manipulation. Even as their price becomes attractive for more people to post no one can go out of their way to attain them.

If my prediction is right, I am going to cash out my 200 doubloons after the holiday event and just buy all the mats for gift of stealth and start maining my engineer again.

There is a problem when one gift of a different legendary can be bought with a small fraction of another legendary gift’s investment.

It’s not being manipulated and in fact, there are alternative supply mechanisms for obtaining Silver Doubloons.

The price is high because everyone who wants a Juggernaut needs these and they are rare – but resourceful players are finding some cost effective ways to acquire them…

Thing about ectos was that a lot more probably got the ascended back items upgraded and nobody bothered to keep upgrading the back gear. That was probably why it crashed.

Just got my 250 Doubloons – I think I made about 150 of them in the MF.

At least you are not trying to farm Charged lodestones

Well if you want to adjust the market – or just make a handful of cash -, in Wayfarer Foothills(Norn starting area) The Maw chest event gives Silver Doubloons for players level ~30-40. I get one every time on my level 34, my level 80 gets a t5 gem/shard/whatever.

I don’t understand, the Skritt areas in WvW are filled with bags of these things and nobody farms them.

Juggernaut has been around the entire time the game has been online. So with that in mind, why then did the price shoot up suddenly one day instead of a natural organic growth as the population all started getting closer to getting ready to go for Legendaries?

I see the drop in sell listing volume that you mention, but don’t see them being relisted. After the number of listings dropped, supply seemed to stay low for quite a while.

Sickening, and there isn’t even a real reason to manipulate it.

They can try to control the supply, but their ability to do so will be limited due to multiple avenues to attain Silver Doubloons.

If you’re going for a Juggernaut, you also need Molten Lodestones – those were about 70s a week ago, now they are 95s if not 1g by now.

There are a LOT of things you need for a Legendary and the best part about making the Juggernaut is that you don’t have to compete for Charged Lodestones.

I’ve got almost all of the expensive stuff out of the way except for the Icy Runestones and about 40 more clovers.

I just don’t see the Silver Doubloons as being that much of a problem compared to some of the other things.

I get them from chests in jumping puzzles, do the 2 easy ones in LA. They are short and easy.

As was mentioned before, there is an upper limit on what Silver Doubloons are likely to sell for because they can be created in the Mystic Forge from pebbles and other low level gems, as well as found in certain loot bags.

I had all 250 of my Doubloons, but I sold them last night to acquire more money to invest. I have a lot of in game things I need to do before I can get my legendary and I didn’t want that money just sitting around doing nothing – so I put it to work.

There’re way bigger issues that the price of silver doubloons. Lodestones, precursors, culling, dungeon balance, Fotm kick/can’t reenter, and about a billion other things.

You’re still getting off way cheaper than most legendaries.

Without even looking, I’m pretty sure Bolt costs more. Either way, the doubloons cost way way way way less than charged lodestones.

true, i dont really believe they will go above 50s however as far the pebbles/nuggets etc is concerned, the prices of most of those are rising quite a bit, so much like ecto price is reliant on cheapest rare price at some point the cost of using the mystic toilet for these wont be worth it.

Bind a key on your keyboard to be a mouse click. I have 3 functions keys that are each a mouse click so when I need to do a lot of double clicking (like large buys from vendors) I can just roll my fingers over them.

Still one button per action, but nothing says you can’t spread the workload around to avoid tendonitis

Anyone have any ideas what’s going on with doubloons at the moment? A lot of cheaper doubloons seem to be entering the market, with very large undercutting driving the price down like crazy.

Good for me, I am trying to buy 250 for my juggernaut.

I already have my stack and have been doing a bit light flipping with them on the side, but I’ve never seen undercuts like these. For some reason, everytime they get bought up to the 30 silver mark, someone puts several up at 28 silver and then people start undercutting by 30 copper a go.

Maybe the recent patch raised the chance to get one.

seems to be ALOT more doubloons on the market now closer to 3k compared to the “not enough to make juggernaught” amount they were some weeks ago but the price isnt actually going down, seems to going up then down then up again.

It’s actually down at 26 silver now, and that’s almost a straight jump from 30 silver. There’s no real spread between them. And it’s been happening for the last day or so.

I’m not sure where someone is getting them in such numbers that it’s worth a constant 4-6 silver undercut.
