What happened to the Trading Posts?
I don’t know if any TP NPC was removed, but in order to sell (on the TP) you don’t need them – you can sell your stuff right out of your inventory. You only need them to pick up your money or items you bought.
“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”
Thanks —- that has solved part of the problem.
The tricky one now is where do I collect the goods I buy and the gold from selling?
You have to access a TP merchant on the map to access that. Some maps have TP merchants available on them (like bloodtide coast) but usually you have to head to the cities to pick-up items.
Any major city has them for sure, typically close to your bank. Or you can press “B” enter a WvW map without a queue, there should be one there in any map, then press “B” again, leave and you are back where you started.
“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”
I am standing directly in front of the TP on the Fort/Island(?) near Scaver Plateau but I cannot get him to respond/talk to me.
Did the new release introduce a Lvl limit??
Accessing the TP could be too confusing for new players lol
Honestly … most likely a bug, hard to say from here.

They have level-gated the BLTC merchants because, you know, players are too stupid to figure out how to use it at such low levels. o.O
You need to have the Golden Title to access the TP now.

Outside of what maybe sounds like a new level restriction for the TP, the most convenient method to get to the TP was to port to wvw.
Rook/tower symbol top left of screen. I usually go to home border if no queue since the crafting stations are also close.
Crucially u can log out to character select screen and back on the same character to return to where you were prior to porting to wvw.
If you don’t have long loading screen times, this is a quick and free way of accessing the tp / bank / crafting stations.
Sometimes you even get alerted by map chat and spend a few minutes having some fun on a garri defense.

Why do they change things that you already had!!!
WHAT is a “Golden Title” and how do I get it ??

I don’t think he was serious here, you get that title for having 200G in your pocket.

A lot of the NPC’s have been removed. Just think of this as a plot by NCSoft to get us to buy more trading delivery guys.
I have 50 silvers but he will not talk LOL!!!

I was on Caledon Forest map yesterday on one of my level 80 chars, and the BLTP NPCs that were there before this latest “improvement” were not there any more. Presumably, this is the case on multiple maps.
You could already sell stuff out of your inventory before the update. Pick-up, as before, requires speaking with an actual BLTP representative NPC. But I believe there is now a level requirement before characters can do so, which is a HUGE step backwards if it is true. Say someone makes a new character and already has lots of higher level ones. If they want to buy bags for that new character to use, they have to sign in on one of the higher characters, buy the bags, put them in storage, then sign back in on the new char to get them out. HUGE hassle where there doesn’t need to be one.

Sorry, if it wasnt obvious, i was kidding. As already mentioned, you dont need to go to a TP npc to sell your stuff. Just right click the item in your inventory and click “sell on trading post”. Every major city has at least 1 Trading Post NPC but my favourite is in the stronghold of Ebonhawke in Field of Ruins. Its a level 30-40 zone in the fasr east of the map but easily accessible, even for low level characters through a asura gate in the east of divinitys reach.
In Ebonhawke, Trading Post, Banker and guild Banker are very close together and the crafting stations are also close by.

You can also press B again, and click the door icon on the lower right corner, unless they “improved” that window as well, and took that away.

Given their apparent actions so far, I fear that this is a very real possibility. They took the dances from 1, saw people enjoyed them, and made the ones here lame and stupid unless you paid out for one of the “instruction manuals”. They made it so that you have a large chance of having to repeatedly buy runes and sigils if you find one you want to use, where before, you could use a transmute stone or crystal and be able to keep it while switching armor pieces. The outfits that many people bought with real world money by way of gems are now basically one piece, you cannot mix and match pieces of your choice like you could before.
It seems they are trying to figure out ways to nickle and dime everybody and wring every little bit they can out of stuff instead of worrying about actually making the game better so more people come to play. I believe the phrase appropriate here is “stepping over dollars to pick up dimes.”

There have been buggy NPCs before who would not talk. I don’t think there is anyway to know 100% for sure.
Did the new release introduce a Lvl limit??
god I hope not but at this point I wouldn’t be surprised.

All seems to be working again —-- not sure whether it was something I was doing silly or a temporary problem with that particular NPC.
I am level 13 and a couple of hours ago there were many TP’s all around the norn starting area, now there is not 1 so something has changed for sure.
I came to gw2 from wow and i am trying to get into gw2 and replace wow with it but changes like this are not helping.
