First of all its not my point to troll trou this topic, it may sound like trolling but its not, But arent AN aware that players mostly playing only 2 kinds of set, Berserker/ Assassin for PVE and for WvW Soldier set,.. This gonna be just as example how hard is to acquire other then zerk and soldier sets,.. as i leveled up my last character to lvl 80, Elementalist i decided to take a bit different aproach to game, picking Ele support traits with Celestial gear, instant bought Trinkets (due to stack of commendation and Fractal pristine tokens), switched my legend onto Celestial stats, but then decided to craft Celestial armor on tailor, figured that i need 30 Quartz cristals for insignia, thats like 5 days for skill points recharges etc.. 1 Quarts Charged Crystal per day,.. no problem a bit wierr, but ok. 5 days later i found that i am completly useless with 5 insginias due to fact you must buy recipe on auction for Celestial gear,
Celestial Exalted Coat 31 gold recipe + Gossamer + 5 ectoplasm + Charged Quartz Crystal = 35 golds, (Chest)
Celestial Exalted Boots 8 gold recipe, + gossamer + 5 ectoplasm + Charged Quartz Crystal= 12 golds,(boots)
Celestial Exalted Pants 20 gold recipe + gossamer + 5 ectoplasm + Charged Quartz Crystal = 25 gold
Celestial Exalted Masque 15 gold recipe + gossamer + 5 ectoplasm + Charged Quartz = 20 golds
Celestial Exalted Gloves 10 gold recipe + gossamer + 5 ectoplasm + Charged Quartz Crystal = 15 golds
Celestial Exalted Shoulders 8 gold recipe + gossamer + 5 ectoplasm + Charged Quartz Crystal = 12 golds

Its 119, even if we take 20 golds, its still around 100 golds for exotic set. Take on other hand full Berserker or Assassin set which is now on TP 9 golds whole set for lvl 80 ele. Next question is why ? (I underastand living story and Baazar event) but why dont AN do something about it, even if you manage to craft Celestial gear, you will be kicked from most pugs and groups because you arent full zerk for farm,..

don’t waste your time was exotic Celestial.. they are so over priced when you include the recipe’s

Only expensive part of Ascended armor is Damask but that will drop to 5g in a month or two.

This. Anyone who didn’t expect this to happen with the addition of ascended armor and built exotic celestial within the last 3 months either really wanted the set, had lots of spare cash or simply no clue or wasn’t paying attention to upcoming patches.

As is, there is literally no reason to build exotic celestial over ascended since due to the low supply of crafting recipes.

As to why anet aren’t doing anything about this, why should they? Not all sets have to be equally easy to aquire. This is also more then evident in dungeon tokens (getting a full set of CoF tokens will take no time at all) and has been part of the game since launch. Be happy the most useful pve and wvw sets (berzerker, assassins, soldiers, knights, etc.) are almost free of charge and not he other way around.

As of this writing 2.88s for tailor and not that much more expensive for other trades with over 1000+ supplied. Not really weighing in on the issue I’d say.

So is it time to sell the recipes I picked up when they were going for less that 1 gold each? Kind of wanted to use them myself, but the Bazaar will most likely be back before I get my ele (over a year old and still only lvl25) to 80.

I wouldn’t actually consider the Ascended introduction a “fix” for the situation, but it is a work-around solution. I would still like Exotics (have no desire to bust my bank on the Ascended items) so I will just wait until the Bazaar becomes available again and hopefully those recipes can be obtained then (without an outlandish price).

If they are going to make this stat combo an exception to the normal crafting rule (requiring recipes for individual Exotic pieces), they should at least give us some method to obtain the recipes that don’t require a TP purchase (yes, they were a reasonable price several months ago…I missed the window).

Well explain me if i dont buy golds with RL money trou gems, if i dont farm every day, how i am supposed to gear 8 characters with ascended armor ? And ele is my last alt lvl 80 ?

I really don’t see it dropping below 7 gold, IMHO, but I guess we can hope.

I’m sure at the time you also didn’t think deldrimor would ever drop below 7g. all it’ll take is time. before you know it, it will cost you more to make it than buy it.

I don’t think you are suppose to put every character in Ascended armor….it’s not needed unless you are running high level Fractals (beyond 20s).

Mithril is cheaper and easier to get than silk. Also you need A LOT less.

I’ve been playing since beta and I’ve never even had a pug ask me to ping gear, let alone kick me for it.
