How much MF were you using and what were you killing?
If nothing else the current 200% MF in Southsun has shown that MF DOES make a big difference or at least 200% MF makes a big difference.
Depending on your build/class you also have to balance your MF against your damage output.
i farmed for 1 hr once and 4, then another time 2 hrs and got 0. one time got i even got 3 within 30 mins, and then nothing for 3 hrs. sometimes using no MF other times close to 140+. the drop chance is so low thats just how it goes.

Before the Southsun event I was geting 2 per hour s I th h 160 mf. When the event started I went down to 0-1. I’m assuming the rng changed to reflect the huge increase mf in SS and anet made it a blanket nerf to the rng table. Even at 400 mf in SS my drops were sbout theb same as pre event

Am sure your asumption is false. No nerf to rng table… With 200% MF in SC it does make a big diferrence. You are just being unlucky with those lodestones…

The absolute best method to obtain lodestones is farming gold from your favorite spot/source and purchasing them. Sad but true.

Currupted Lodestones drop from a sweet spot in Frostgorge (i still do it once in a way for 30 mins while waiting for Jormag to spawn to get the T5 and T6 bone and fang which drop quite graciously)
IMO ranger is the best for farming this (so tempted to get my ranger a MF set just for doing this content.)
I recently got a stack of 10 Corrupted Lodestones from a missed Mystic Clover attempt (using 10 receipe).

No, the MF boost from Southsun does not work outside of Southsun.
The earlier reference to the Southsun 200% MF boost was just stating that using this boost in Southsun shows that MF does in fact work. Not that it works for corrupted lodestones.

This is pretty much inline with what has happened to me. I’ve tried farming them since Southsun and I’ve got 1 in about 8 separate 1 hour farming sessions. It doesn’t make sense that there was a change, if any, but it doesn’t seem quite right.
I’ve also seen less people farming there overall. I think others are experiencing the same thing and have since stopped farming that area. Maybe the ones showing up on the AH are only from Jormag event mobs? Who knows.
Does anybody know if they drop better off of the other frost eles in Orr? It would almost make sense for them to stealth nerf the spot in Frostgorge since it was so popular. Doing it during the SS event makes sense as most of the farmers were there farming instead.

I can’t think of anything related to Lyssa but if there is something they would probably drop Crystal Lodestones.

Hmm interesting so taking both temples would be better for spark farming …
Edit: Looks like Lyssa statues will spawn a random elemental from 2 of the other gods. Right now we have neither Balthazar temple nor the Grenth temple but ice and fire elementals are spawning near the lyssa statue. Also earth and air but we do have Dwayna and Melandru.

Well, i got 2 in 15 minutes on Frostgorge Sound in that place with the colossus. I was with 100% MF i think. The funny thing is, i farmed for 45min one day before, nothing dropped. Then in the other day, in the morning, as soon as i logged in, i killed one colossus and one dropped, then 15min later another one. I tought fun because i farmed like a madman on the day before and nothing dropped, then suddenly on the other day, 2 in a row!

Probably not … with low rates you’ll need large number of kills to establish any useful data and you would need to keep track of every kill and every drop. Seems very tedious. Gut feelings won’t cut it for this sort of thing. You’ll remember the 3 hours of 0 drops and forget about the 2 drops in a row.

The only variables I know for sure are time spent and lodestones dropped. I would farm for an hour(2 omnom bars) and then count my lodestones. I would receive 1-2 for that hour on my Guardian, but 1 time I received 0. On my ranger I was consistently getting 0 for that same hour, even though I was killing mobs at an exceptionally higher rate. There was also a time when I did receive 2 within 3 minutes on my Guardian, and I do remember that as being unusual.
