Epic staff, saw it linked in chat, but there is not even a clue on how to get it… from the name id guess it has either something to do with the place where Zhai died or Malchors leap. Would be awesome to even just get a hit from a Dev.

Asked dev, say its a boss chest drop, now just to get what boss drops it!

I’m pretty sure they have said in the past that boss chests don’t drop anything that you can’t get other places. That’s because it would require players to grind certain boss over and over, which is something they’ve said they don’t want to do.

It looks neat, but I have yet to hear or see anything about it. maybe if I had been able to play for the last week, but that’s an impossibility until (hopefully) tomorrow.

Sadly no updates i wish Linsey just to tell us where it drops… ;_; I mean it will either way be effected by stupid RNG god powers thus making it probably a 1 month grind.

I think one of the devs said it was a chest drop. Can’t remember which thread that was though.

Twas here and in pm, large boss drop, so that pretty much cancels out… mystic forge and crafts, yay for reducing the chance by 2 out of a 135 possible ways (each meta, dungeon + crafting and MF) of getting exotics excluding map completion.

Maybe try buried archives jumping puzzle. It is a tomb in orr with 2 risen knights and a veteran noble guarding it. I think the chest there may be big, can’t really remember but it does fit.

I just did this puzzle to check the size of the chest. The kind of chest is a “Splendid Chest”, the round type. It’s not a really big chest like you get after a major boss event like eg. Jormag. Think the boss chest is what we need to be looking for.

So far no results from 4 Sunless, 11 Jormags and 6 Shatterers… (and thats with asking the whole map if anyone got it)

Don’t forget, the bosses in the starting zones also have large chests and the rewards are based on your level. Start killing the Fire Elemental guys and gals.

Back when people were doing hundreds of token runs a day, we still weren’t seeing it as a drop. I’m beginning to think its too rare. I mean, its harder to get than a legendary at this point.

I’m pretty sure it can be crafted in the Mystic Forge. Think about it, pretty much every other named exotic that we know of can come out of the mystic forge. Even if this staff does drop from monsters, you can’t rule out that it can also be crafted in the forge.

Presuming you mean the Scavenger’s Chasm, I would highly think not. Did it tonight opening all 3 chests and all it gave me was the same generic blues/greens/medallions as any other chest out in the world.

Two reasons.

1.) They want to keep you hunting and therefore playing the game.

2.) For some people, the pursuit is as fun as the end product.

It hasn’t been that long since the game came out, not everything has been run to death yet. Give it some time, it will pop up sooner or later and the answer will be out there.

This would be true if there were any god kitten clues about it that would let us know for what encounter we need to pray to the RNG god to (since as a boss chest drop, it is 100% under some stupid RNG loot pool instead of being a special event thing under special conditions). How its right now, its mostly a giant luck based wild goose chase.

When the dev said that its from a boss chest, the immediate thought I had was of the World Event of Temple of Grenth in Cursed Shores, since Grenth is the God of Death.
Are there any other bosses that is related to Death?

Some clues that might help don’t take them for granted though.

- There’s a heart vendor that sells Gargoyle Fossils.
- Gargoyle lore tells that they mysteriously vanished a long time ago, so you don’t see them in GW2 at all since I’ve seen no reports of them.
- They used to be in Kryta, mainly in Ascalon, last seen by a Charr.
- Lore tells they were hunted mainly by Necros (Ironic) because of their skulls.

So I suggest start looking in the Charr Areas, Ascalon or any dungeons around it, shatterer’s chest might drop it but I’ve not seen it confirmed, has anyone seen a player with this weapon yet?

SeTHBeaRz.3456 – Will farm the Shadow Behemoth too from now on and to be honest, pushed the grenth event so many times, doubt that it is from there, if anything it would be on Dwaynas event since it is Malchors final resting place there and Gargoyles were air magic users.
Zogyark.4597 – Yep, but they were also south and a bit to the north west of LA, thus Sunless seems like the best choice, heart vendors till now were never clues and yes i remember slaughtering em in post searing Ascalon to get that kitten Curses staff.

Saw in other thread about lyndsey giving a tip of how to get it. It is from a chest on orr. I bet all my gold that is one the chest of that eye of zhaitan event that no one does.

From what Linsey’s hint about Final Rest, she mainly said that its from a LARGE boss chest. Of which boss or of which area is not stated, I would really wanna know if in fact that Final Rest could be crafted or is it exclusively DROP ONLY?

Talked to both Aura.1645 and Annihilator.1937.

Aura basicly told me that his friend got the staff and he didn’t remember if it was Masterwork/rare/blue. But he was 100% certain it wasn’t exotic. He was also sure that his friend, who actually got the staff does know it. So the next day, (Today) I whispered his friend Anihiliator. All he had to say was that it was exotic and that he salvaged it. Considering, they both got a different story i can only assume that they’re lieing.

Are we certain it is a large chest. The reply everyone is quoting from dev could also lead one to believe it is from a chest, from a LARGE BOSS. Just a thought.

I’d actually like some official confirmation and a hint of an area hopefully. I know we have that quote but after reading through Lindseys history I did not find any message regarding Final Rest. So it could just be a made up quote by someone that may already have it, it may be true who knows.

I just find it weird that it can’t be crafted or discovered through the forge, having such a low chance to drop from a chest and not knowing which one could take a while figuring out what you’re supposed to be doing.

Also pointing out that I have yet to see Final Rest in the trading post, so this probably verifies that it can’t be forged, and if it can’t be crafted like Lindsay supposedly said then farming the worlds largest chests is all we have left until a noble soul comes and sheds some light on us.

If it drops from a general boss chest, then I think we should have seen quite a bit of these already.
