I’m curious as this is one of the items we were told would increase. Has anyone had luck with this? I can’t get them to drop at all.

Curious as I would love to compelete my exotic set with a set of Ogre runes which are now close to 4gold ea the last time i checked.

What kind of lodestones are you chasing?

I’m not sure if you know about this but the Fractals of the mist (FotM) dungeon drops a reasonable amount of random cores (and I’ve even gotten 2 lodestones from there now too).

Using the Mystic Forge in LA – you can upgrade cores to lodestones with this simple recipe:

• 2 x Cores (The core type must be of the same lodestone type that you want. Example of this is 2 x Molten Cores for 1 x Molten Lodestone, 2 x Glacial Cores for 1 Glacial Lodestone etc.)
• 1 x Pile of Crystalline Dust
• 1 x Crystal (from Miyani next to the Mystic Forge)
• 1 x Bottle of Elonian wine (also from Miyani in a seperate tab)

Place those items into the mystic forge and forge it. You can get your lodestones this way too. Good luck.

In Dredge fractal, you drop Miners Bags, which have a really good drop chance of Destroyer Core and sometimes even Destroyer Lodestone and in chest you can find these same and also Molten Core/Lodestone. In Kraken (even number special boss), Jade monsters drops Onyx Cores and Lodestones like crazy. Just tell you party not to run, but to kill and you will see. The finale even bonus chest has a great chance of dropping any core and any lodestone even together. I saw a chests few times with Charged Lodestone and two Onyx Cores. The drop rate of any Lodestone in Fractals is far more greater then in respective dungeons with exception of Molten Core/Lodestone in CoF. And its fun

Thanks for the tip, tho you’ve just confirmed what I and others like me were afraid of with the series of patches leading up to nov 16th. So what about he large number of chests all across the world or the large number of molten and rock enemies or how the MF doesn’t really do much for them anymore? smh

This was supposed to be an open world event game with dungeons as secondary.

Everything is nice but no word about corrupted lodestones. Their drop rate wasn’t increased at all. I have like 6 from thousands of monsters and it includes all known locations in Frostsound Gorge like Claw of Jormag event, HoTW and so on. The amount on TP is more or less the same. Price is always slightly over 1g.

i got a corrupted core the other day. All lodestones got their drop increased, mainly due to them dropping more in the fractals.

Lodestones have a really low % chance of drop, while Cores seems to have a slightly better % now.

Every dungeon has a specific Core/Lodestone within their boss and final chests, i.e.: Citadel of Fire drops Molten Cores/Lodestones in their chests.

Fractals are simply mini-dungeons and they follow the same rules.

As for the open world, best chance for Cores/Lodestones are the Corrupted ones (drop from Corrupted Colossus and Quaggans in Frostsound Gorge). There are however other spots for Charged and Onyx.

Only remember, farming for an hour in the same place brings DR, so change activities often (i usually alternate WvW and PvE activities for my legendary grind).
