Making legendaries vs buying them off TP
easier, yes…..worth it? well thats up to you I suppose
it depends which legendary you want to get ( http://gw2legendary.com/ )
also personally, I would get too burnt out saving over 2000+ gold at once to buy something, not to mention that crafting it just feels awesome
If you have close to 1 million karma and 340 skill points then I would say make it yourself. The only other thing you need to get that you can’t buy with gold is the dungeon gift, which is only eight runs and running dungeons is a good way to get gold anyway.
Im sure farming gold is easier, but as many people have said, it lessens the value of being legendary. Ive been working toward mine for awhile now, and im sure when its done it will definitely feel much more legendary than just buying it. Its more work sure, but I like the feeling of accomplishment that comes with doing something like that

buy orders for legendaries are usually pretty close to the cost of all the materials that go into making a legendary. So if you buy-order it, you would spend about the same amount of gold but wouldn’t have to spend the time to get karma and SP and stuff.
I caution you: buying a legendary will make it feel less legendary to you. I love my Sunrise because I put long hours of work into making it. I usually don’t even remember I have Kraitkin.

nope.
the only thing to actually consider is the time it takes you to complete another map for 2 possible crafted legendaries. if you can make the 600-1k more gold that you need to buy order them in 1/2 of that time than running around and completing kitten its probably worth it (timewise) unless you enjoy it for whatever reason or jsut give a kitten. you will get alot karma and sp on the side doing this so you can build at least one legendary after you have finished your map.
most ppl dont rush a map completion from 0% to 100%. so what i do for my 2nd map completion is starting an alt and lvling it up through maps when i feel like just slacking around and doing a map in chill mode. sometimes i am ignoring hearts and do them when daily is up. also teaming up is kinda fun if its the only thing you have to do for your legendary and you wanna rush the last x% like i had to do for my first one
so, when i dont do map completion(most of the time) i do dungeons = infinite skillpoints or fractals = alot karma and obsi shards!
so yea my 2nd map completionist has /age of 49h 23min over the past 38 days and is lvl 60 with 60% map and im allmost done with my 2nd legendary so it lines up quite nicely!
actually i have leveled every character of my 3 80s through lvl up tomes/eotm/crafting/dungeon paths (even my first one) and had to start completing maps afterwards which was quite a pain cuz it made no sense other than the gift.. thinking back i should have leveled every character through map completion since its kind of ok in terms of fun and you have multiple reasons of doing that like lvling, skillpoints, some karma and then just finish off the last couple % for your gift
All legendaries usually cost 500-1000g more if you buy them straight up from the TP. It depends on what you get faster, the karma/skillpoints/etc to craft a legendary, or the gold.
I think Gift of explorations is the longest part of getting a legendary, besides farming the gold. If you have the karma/skillpoints I would suggest just crafting it, cause you already have the gift of exploration. Unless you’re really good with investments or flipping and can get gold easily. Then buying it straight up would be best.
The only exception is Eternity. If you want an Eternity it’s cheaper to buy it straight from the TP than to craft it yourself.
