put 4 carrion pearl carvers in the forge as soon as i hit 400 wep…got spark..wtf
was debating earlier today whether or not it was worth it to try for legendary..guess ill have to now lol

After 1500 rares and 20+ exotics i have given up on getting my colossus. Would have never tried to use exotics since i dont lose that much money when using rares but i got frustrated still not getting one.

I know everything is rng but i think it’s just plain stupid when a guildie can get 4 precursors with the same amoun of rares that i have thrown in while doing absolutely nothing different.

And i will never pay for a precursor from the black trading post because it is usuall someone who got lucky in the mf or who is trying to sell precursors for profit, why would i want to give my money to those kind of people. Ah well, got enough different things to do in gw2 thankgod, guess ill stick with my one legendary where i bought the precursor for 55g in good old times.

Didnt have any luck in MF 500 rares and 400 exos and got only one named amazing right? So both it last night.. screw this i want my legendary so i got it.and now after all this efforts i am proud owner of The Dreamer… no matter what i worked hard for it so my legend begins now.

4652 rare items into the forge gave me:

244 exotics (20,98%)
3 Precursors (2,58%)

Just got Spark by throwing 4 random rares from events in the Mystic Toilets, i wans going for any in particular, just saving money and gambling from time to time with events rewards… And well, seems that i kicked RNG in the nuts.

I bought 30g for rare shortbows, Lover drops not even half way through.

Guildies to my left and right have dropped 300g+ into it and got nothing.

And this was yesterday on it’s own.

I spent 100g yesterday making gs’s to throw in, ended up making 405 rares, got 30 exotics threw those in too, no precursor. not that bad, I’ll just buy it now but was worth a shot. I can see why people get down about stuff like that.

I throw into the forge 400 rares and 0 precursor, and got 21 exotics.

~6300 rares into the forge

returned

395 exotics (all level 80)
0 precursors

Either the odds of getting a precursor are significantly less than 0.3%, or I’m having bad luck for the ages (odds of not hitting at least 1 precursor after that many forges are 400:1 against).

I’ve wasted 100 rares and gotten maybe one exotic. I bought 20 exotics off the tp to see if I would end up wasting less money and ended up getting my precursor on the first try. The RNG gods smiled upon me that day. :p

Made 40 rares daggers last night dropped them all in and on the last try got Spark.

Overall made 150-200 rares total to get spark, I originally gave up on Incinerator and ended up buying Storm and making Meteorlogicus.

Precursor with MF is pure gambling. My guildmate got one on first try and 2nd one on 5th try T_T …

After reading all this I’m not sure if I should try MF for Zap or not. Then I’m not sure if I should use rares or exotics.

The odds really are quite terrible when flushing items down the Mystic Toilet.

Over the last month I’ve flush over 2,000 rares, most of them level 80, down the toilet. I have no idea of the actual number, I bought ~2k, then you have to factor in the rares I got back that got forged. Most exotics were sold to pay for more rares.

The result was one Spark.

Was hoping for two, one to keep, and one to sell to fund the rest of the costs of a Legendary. Now I’m broke and still 600g in materials away from my Incinerator. I also do not have the time to spend hours upon hours farming anymore.

EDIT: Went back through my purchase history 2,050 rares bought.

If you’re gonna use the MF by crafting/buying rare/exotic swords, go for the more expensive precursors and sell to buy zap.

just spent about 146g couple hours ago on rare greatswords was hoping to get either 2 dusks and/or dawns or at least 1 of ea but i knew going in i would just be lucky to get my dusk lol well i ended up i would say 22-27 exotics maybe a little more this was well over 200+raresand by the heavens i ended up with 1 dusk by throwing everything in there and saying please 30x the amount of rares given back was insane and ended up getting it with the exotics and i got so many dhuumsouls like 4-5 lol actually think ended up getting it on my very last chance with 1 exotic and 2 rares left

Oh boy, you should try to use punctuation.

The one thing that none of you understand is the mechanics of the forge and other types of items like the forge in other games, they are meant to have players keep gold out of the games, also helps combat real world trading, this is the main reason the forge was invented. Same goes for the black lion trading post and market, they are mostly meant to buy Ben’s with gold or real world money to buy account bound or soulbound so you have to buy for each character. If people didn’t spend money in places like that on games, it breeds no difference.
