Has there been any information whether or not we will be able to salvage ascended gear anytime soon? With the addition of craftable Ascended weapons next week I feel like this would be a good time to give people a way to get rid of the many rings that people have accumulated from FoTM. Specifically because we will be able to craft Ascended weapons it seems like we would be able to salvage Ascended stuff for new mats that would be used in crafting Ascended gear. That being said I am not on the logistics of crafting ascended weapons and whether or not those mats should be harder to get than just salvaging a ring you will never use. But even if they just recover Vial of Condensed Mists Essence from a salvage (like people have been asking for since Ascended rings came out) it would be better than the 5s you get from selling them. So if salvaging Ascended gear doesn’t come this next update, when will it come?

I agree that they should be salvageable, but they should give something like that Dark Matter that was originally going to be used on those twisted clockwork portals (I’m guessing that will be a T7 mat?), and have it be used for making ascended items. sort of like how salvaging rares gives ectos which are used to make rares/exotics.

I really hope they let me salvage Ascended rings soon. I’ve been trying to get my ascended backpiece so I’ve stooped to selling the things. I feel kinda bad since it’s the top gear in the game and that lot’s of players are still trying to get the ring they want, but I have no real use for the things
(I wish would could share them with the party we’re in when we receive them, now that’d rock)

It is very annoying how RNG works.

There’s a very simple yet elegant solution.
Ring salvages into 1 Vial of Condensed Mist Essence
Vials are no longer bound and can be traded on the TP.

Given that upgrade recipes exist, this is enough to eliminate the annoying RNG coupled to these items.

I’ve been stocking up all my excess rings just in case.

Of course, this probably means that no change will be made in this regard. The only way something like this will be realized is likely dependent upon me vendoring off all my rings.

So I’ll be screwed either way, I just know it.
