Guild Wars 2

I’m a PvP’r so I don’t know much about the dungeons or fractals. So maybe this is common and I just haven’t read about it. Me and 2 guildies recently began giving them a try.

We were doing a difficulty 2 last night and ended up having to do 4 fractals instead of 3. I’ve read that even level difficulties you get some kind of bonus chest but wasn’t sure how you get that chest. Do you have to do a 4th Fractal to get it? Then technically it’s not a bonus at that point. You can just do another fractal if you wanted to get an additional chest.

It ended up screwing me because we started knowing that I had limited time and would be able to do 3, allowing for additional time for problems.

Then after completing the third, expecting a level advancement, we got put into a forth. Is this normal or did something bug out?

We got them in the following order.
1. Snowblind
2. Cliffside
3. Underground Facility
4. Solid Ocean

Solid Ocean is always the 4th fractal on even numbers. His chest is different in that it has way better loot, more tokens, and you get a bonus daily chest in the bottom right corner of your screen that either drops 20 tokens in tier 1, or 25+ and the chance of a ring at 10+

Oh, so the only time you get Solid Ocean is as the even number bonus. I hadn’t realized that. I thought it was just one of the other 8 fractals.

I had to go before we finished so I didn’t get a chance to do it. I assume it’s shorter then the others too?

Yep, it’s shorter. There’s some running and jumping from platform to platform, with trash mobs along the way (all of which you can skip if you want) and then a single boss fight at the end.
