Do you have any advice on how best to deal with kittenty phase 1 locust RNG? Or would you suggest just resetting if you get crap like what made me ragequit last night, where his first scream brought 4 locusts followed by 3 on the next?

Depends on what you’re trying, if you’re trying to get a speedclear done, you cant really afford more than one 3+ locust spawn I’d say, if not, I recommend putting up a temportal curtain on a place where the warden is likely to spawn, the cast the warden, pull swarms in, immobilise with skill 3 and shatter once warden is done hitting, Aside from that, you can always use timewarp if you get in a situation like that, use it well, shatter a bit and let the warden hit a lot, you should be able to get most of them dead.

Haha welll I’m just trying to plain get it finished, I’m not even worried about speed yet. Thanks for the tip.

Boom! Bumper!
Assassin’s definitely deserves more attention from mesmers I think. The DPS increase from makng our phantasms crit a lot more reliably I think outweighs the loss in power.

For solo play maybe, but in an organised group, I’m always close to 100%. And if I have 25 perception stacks, I have more than 100% crit with fury.
Obviously you wouldn’t use perception stacks, but even then I’m not sure
Back during the Deadeye Farm craze I had my guardian up at 101% crit and there were still non-crit hits happening. Don’t know if that’s due to a bug with Right Hand Strength (it still doesn’t display in the H panel, you have to just add the 15 yourself) or something else wonky with the crit% calculations.
Just mentioning this to say it might not always so bad to be a little above 100%. If there is a bug, that is.
Thats because its capped. Not sure what its capped to, probably about 99%.

I thought right hand strength didn’t apply to reflect damage. That’s why you wouldn’t crit sometimes.

I’m pretty sure I was hitting closer to 100% than 85%. That would be the first I’ve ever heard of that.

That would explain it.

Reflections are no sword attacks and therefore do not get affected by RHS.

Ahhh, I thought the trait was “Critical-hit chance with one-handed weapons [equipped] is increased by 15%.”
