This will do several things:

One- Training for the actual 10 Man- Raid Mechanics, with everything tuned down and virtually all the same mechanics.

Two- Easier to form a party and not deal with the elitism culture if your goal is to only experience the content and story, so it’s not exclusive to a small oligarchy of players

Three- The Catch is No Rewards, at best you can get exotic weapons and armor
that generic and possibly get crafting mats.

So all in all, incentive for Anet is that this allows players to EXPERIENCE the content they created, learn the mechanics, and incentive for players to say “HEY! I know how to do this now, I WANT TO DO THE HARDER ONE FOR ACTUAL REWARDS!!”

Boom, this addresses many of the issues currently surrounding this re-emerging issue.

And more importantly, this keeps actual 10-man raids, HARD, which they are supposed to be.

Not going to happen.

Took me 3 runs of the dungeon to get the bug.

This will certainly do one thing: waste a lot of dev time. Anything else? I highly doubt it.

As Fractals have proven time and again, a “toned down” version of Raids will never be good for training.

Also, you cannot have the same mechanics work for 5 people…

5 man isn’t a raid…its a heroic, or dungeon, or fractal.
and this “Boom, this addresses many of the issues currently surrounding this re-emerging issue.” the only issue is people want something easy to get, period. If I could get any one wish in regards to raids, current and new, it would be less mechanics on the boss fights.
But what I want will never come to fruitation because as I and many others have said, raids aren’t hard. Raids in WOW were hard, but they were different. You had wings and wings of trash and maybe a mini boss before the big guys. Most times you would raid for 2-3hrs maybe 2 or 3 days a week, just to try and clear ONE wing!
GW2 raids people are doing 13 bosses…13!!!! inlike 3 hours or less. So yea, they aint hard. Just for a select few, myself included, they seem to be a bit mechanic heavy, but that’s a learning thing and “de-programming” of years of WOW and ESO raids, that’s all.
So people, please try and focus attention and energy and whatever else into things that matter…balance….less meta focus…..more tanking classes….lol, stuff like that!!

No, that would trivialize content.

There is the concept of “carry”:

  • With 5-man content, it is often ~2 good players carrying 3 mediocre players.
  • With 10-man content, it is often ~5 good players carrying 5 mediocre players.

Making raid 5-man without increasing its difficulty significantly would mean forming/finding a group that can definitely clear the content is trivial, as you just need 2 good players.

Yeah it would help people train /s
Just look how many people can clear 100CM and not raids. None. All people that can clear 100CM clear raids.
And 100CM is just what you asking for. So 5 man raids will not make people better at raids, people that fail at raids will fail at 5 man raids.

So true, look at 100cm, you need good players all around in order to clear that. The ratio of good to bad swings so far towards needing good players when you make raid difficulty 5-man content (though Arkk is probably harder than all raid bosses).

The existing raids are 5 man content.
