+6 Agony infusion: can you upgrade/downgrade?
Artificer.
The recipes are discoverable by Artificer (they aren’t automatic).
To downgrade, I generally sell and buy something else, since the costs (including fees) are often comparable. Usually, though, I find it’s better to upgrade and sell (or upgrade + use).

Ok I didn’t realize my Artificer could do this but I made my +6’s into a +7.
Follow up question: is it better to build agony infusions through the Fractals vendor or through Artificing?
IIRC the cost is the same. Only advantage of artificing is if you needed to get your crafting level up.

- Having all options at the vendor complicates the menu, which is already plenty complicated now.
- It’s not necessary: you can reach AR+150 entirely with AR+7 and AR+9.
Mind you, I think there are other ways that ANet could have set up the interface to achieve the same purpose, but this method works, even if it’s not very pretty or elegant.

My response was for the guy who said artifice had no use outside of leveling crafting. I was not suggesting artifice was superior. I was just stating a boon to using it. I well aware of all the AR combinations if you’ve read my other post in the fractal, dungeons, and raids section of the forums. I’d prefer you read what I’m replying to before you grill me as if I was just ignorant.

I was explaining the “for some reason” that only odd numbers are included at the vendor. I wasn’t addressing in any way, shape, or form the advantages of one method of producing AR over another, just the probable reason ANet set them up differently.
