Guild Wars 2

I lurk a lot and post a little in these forums, and if there is one trend that is obvious it’s people coming to the dungeon forum loaded with ignorance and misconception. I imagine it’s kinda disappointing for the community that supports this game play.

Now I am in no way a pro or pioneer in dungeon runs. I have been using this particular sub forum to gather information, feedback, skills, and knowledge about the game and its professions, and in doing so I’ve shelved my Necro, geared my Guardian in DPS, and have been doing my best to improve my gameplay and learn.

I’ve never had so much fun playing the game.

The amount of game knowledge that exists amongst the community members of the dungeon forum is truly valuable, and a very appreciated asset for those willing to understand and want to improve. I don’t participate in any times runs, nor am I part of a guild active in this area, but regardless, what I’ve learned here has made me better at the entire game, enjoy it more than ever, and allowed me to offer valuable advice in return to those who request it.

So thanks dungeon guys and girls for figuring it out and doing your best to promote efficient and effective game play, even when massive misconceptions lead to derogatory and negative perceptions of your community.

If all the “ignorance and misconception” disappeared from the dungeon forum, I’d be awfully bored; I’d have to stop posting sarcastic comments to mock ridiculous viewpoints. (Reading is OP. Stacking is an exploit. Reflecting is an exploit. Dodging is an exploit. Dungeon selling has nothing to do with supply and demand. Etc.)

Sure, the sheer amount of negativity puts into perspective the climate of the content, but those posts eventually deteriorate into crazy back and forth with people who have no intention of changing their minds, and the thread gets locked, making the overall sub forum look more unproductive each day. Look how active the Suggestion forum was, and that got archived because it wasn’t efficient, and the posts would be better served if allocated to more specific and appropriate sub forums.

What if they decide that the only productive posts here relate to builds, and begin relegating the constructive threads to various professions’ sub forums?

The negativity is necessary to prove your points, as shown in just about every thread of “durr stacking and wall of reflection is an exploit” but I worry that the forum will be seen as completely unconstructive and therefor unnecessary.

Off topic but it’s something to think about.

That’s it, i am not giving up on my necro thanks for some forums advices/guides. The game is amazing and i am glad Anet is trying to do something different than the other developers.

It seems deSade feels the same way. If we were to finally convince everyone to take logic to heart (no, reflecting is not an exploit, etc), then we wouldn’t get a chance to post sarcastic comments, and what fun would that be? And if we finally got Anet to see things our way, then kitten, we wouldn’t even be able to make fun of them anymore!
