A Looking For Group System
YES! I don’t know why I don’t see more people clamoring for this. Especially without a needed trinity, a system that just threw you into a party would be so amazing.
This system will be good but first AN have to create a system that avoid some baddies kicking anyone in combat/dungeons. My friends and I have already experienced this problem yesterday and today. And I haven’t seen this problem before but just happening in Halloween days.
I really don’t think that this would be a good idea. It’s good to look for and find a group of people who know what they are doing in the dungeons instead of being put into countless crappy groups. I already get into parties that say they know what they are doing but don’t. Other games have this feature but I think that AN left it out of this game for a reason. They didn’t have this system in Guild Wars 1 and there weren’t any problems. I think it’s fine the way it is. You all are lazy haha.
LFG Systems ruin MMO’s imo. And here are 2 valid reasons why:
1. It turns the MMO into a series of mini games that you that you just sit their and Q for.
2. It also has potential (dependent upon design) to cull the community. As all you do is press the dungeon Q button, rather than having to get social to form a group. It also has the chance to put Guild wars gorgeous designed world at peril as (dependent upon design) the formed group may telelport to chosen mini game.
…If such a system is chosen by the developers, then I hope to god they keep it as primal as possible, so we still have to stay social to form a group and so that we don’t get auto teleported into the dungeon.
Anet wouldn’t need to make you auto-port to the dungeon since you can just waypoint to it anyway.
I gotta say this is very needed. some nights I only have 3 or so hours to play, and I have spent about 1.5 hours looking for a group only to give up and play some personal story. I haven’t even completed to the last four dungeons on story mode yet because of how impossible it is to find anyone
I think this system would be fantastic. Some nights I rarely have enough time to waste LFG and also sick of porting to LA and back to my dungeon entrance trying to find a group.
I quit playing basically because of the lack of LFG. Will consider coming back if this game ever gest one. I suppose the lack of LFG helps foster a stronger community of like minded people while seeding out the bad apples like me. Yay! Win for the map spammers.
Another “bad apple” here, maybe they’ll count ’em:) Not playing untill this whole dungeon thing is more player-friendly.

Alex, every game in MMO genre is a series of mini-games, your only true social experience comes from guild raid runs, which is a mini-game in itself (and the resulted sense of brotherhood). You have quasi social experience from event-based levelling system as it allows you to see other players achieving same goal without any communication.
Please, this 1000×. Personally I’ve stopped running dungeons completely, I got sick of essentially standing in once place (or porting from there to LA) waiting over an hour for a group (story modes). And than having them fall apart before we could get all 5 usually. This is not fun.
Mind you, I’m not a big fan of it making the groups and warping everyone around stuff. A global chat channel for dungeon running would be enough. Or even just a simple checkbox setup with dungeons interested in and a list of names of people wanting to run that dungeon.
Maybe when I’m 80 I’ll finally try running them again. I really enjoyed the few I did (support guardian) but I’d rather be enjoying the game than standing around broadcasting.
I agree 100%. I just spent 1 hour trying to get a SE group. It was taking so long everyone just left to do something else.
This game needs an LFG system. I am on a medium density server and there are not enough people outside AC to form a group at all.
I like the game and don’t want it to start losing players like other games without an LFG system have done in the past.
How about a system that mimics the old way in which players looked a party in WOW? Just put you name on a list for a specific dungeon. Everyone has access to the list and can choose to invite whomever they want from their server based on whatever qualifications.
It is just a waste of time to have to spam to get a group. A queue or list would help immensely, and for the social aspect most people I end up being friends with are ones I ran instances with and liked. It would let us branch out more imo.
A dungeon finger would be great, a party search like GW1 had would be nice too (you could put in what content you are looking for), it should work cross server too to help the lower populated ones.
In my opinion they have to make an automatic dungeon finder just like wow, not the “manual” thing it has GW2. You put the dungeon you want and the path, and then click “search” and you’re ready to go, instant match with others who want the same as you.
It could also have the possibility to go to that dungeon no matter where the map you are. Just a button popping out saying “enter dungeon”. Going to the dungeon map is very annoying.
