While doing fractals with friends over ts discussions arise so don’t judge me to harsh on sharing with you some things we talked about.

First fractals.
Ever played a game with floors or maybe seen anime about it like SAO? Fractals are already a floor like game mode where the higher level you go the better the loot. Being able to go in and out is not really that challenging so of course the rewards even tough good some might say could be better so how about this?

Say you and your friends want to challenge your endurance a bit. You start at level 75 and work your way up trough every level and bang… at level 80 you get a bonus chest because you worked your way there level by level in a single game session. What i mean is that there should be a fractal game mode in which if you start at a level any level and make multiple succession levels you get rewarded for your effort. You can have different tiers of bonus chests say one after 5 levels another a better one at 10 levels and so on. Maybe after some levels the chest might contain a guaranteed chance for ascended item be it ring/accessory/chest.

Of course in order to prevent selling of instances in order to be eligible for rewards you should be there for the whole time. This also might frustrate players that will say maybe you get dc. what if for every level you clear in succession you get a buff that stays with you for 1 hour so you can get back in and be eligible for reward. this are small stuff that can have a solution.

I think this will please players that are looking for a more challenging experience that is not raids.

About dungeons this could be implemented as well but more on the dungeons.
how about getting a lobby like the fractal one that would allow you to go to all dungeons so you can form a party go in find the dungeon vendor there a bank a trade post, a small hub.

Giving dungeons a new level of difficulty. you could have a small console there like the fractal one. there you could select tiers for dungeons. you have the story mode lvl 35, exploration mode exactly how it is, and then you could have other modes 1 in which the npc can have more hp, maybe more attack, basically a way to customize your dungeon experience.

Of course making them harder would mean better rewards, i mean lets face it ppl stay away from them these days because they are just not worth it. Maybe even add a new currency and things to spend it on that would make them worth your while.

Oh well as i said these were just some things me and my friends talked about, support them ask questions or add your own ideas to them. I have high hopes that people at Arena are reading these kind of stuff maybe we could get opinions as well. Also thank you if you took your time to read all this.

Dungeons are dead. ANet moved away from them to the point of one time nerfing the rewards into the ground, only to return it partially a few months later, underestimating their draw.

They have been revamping existing Fractals and adding more as well as adding more stuff to buy with relics.

Fractals are endgame content, even though there is level scaling in fractals it’s aimed primarily at level 80 characters, so providing level bonuses doesn’t seem intuitive or relevant, and the whole idea about fractals seems focused on that idea.

I don’t think the OP was referring to character levels, but Fractal Levels. It’s kind of a throwback to the old system of Fractals, where one had to complete so many Fractals (in one play-session) to receive a reward.

It might be possible without too many resources, but I’m guessing the Dev Team will be more likely to spend those resources on updating/creating new Fractals.

I don’t think any Dungeon reworks will happen any time soon.

I kinda like the idea, to keep people in there. Perhaps as a farm, but in practice it wont / will barely help unfortunatly. Here is why: For starters there is the scale 100cm. Guilds or pugs (lfg) do this everyday regardless if it is daily or not. There is also the molten boss farm at scale 40. Fastest and most rewarding scale if we consider time/effort ratio. And finelly people that just do their daily (and recommanded).

Personally i think the “problem” is rewards themselfs. As someone that does fractals on a daily base, i already have my ascended gearing, infusions, and potions. My tokens are stacking up quite heavily, and there is just nothing i can use them for. It would be nice if i could turn them into gold somehow. Like with dungeons and how you can buy and salvage equipment and sell the insignia/inscription as well as other mats that come out of it. Or throw them into MF.

(Btw, i think this topic should be moved to “Dungeons, fractals and raids” no?)
