So I’ve been trying to solo AC path3. But the first place I die is at the spider queen , so I went to youtube and watched some video’s to get some information about how you are supposed to do it. But the thing I see the most is using a FGS behind the bars at the wall , but it does not seem really legit to me.

So , are you allowed to use the FGS that way at the spider queen in ac?
And is there a safe way , to solo the spiderqueen as elementalist ?

I think the videos you are seeing are pretty old, since most people dont use fgs that much since it was nerfed. Watch goku’s many solo’s of ascalonian catacombs or of simply spider queen to see how to do it pretty quickly on staff ele:

Like Nyx hinted, FGS is dead. It used to be OP when you’d use Fiery Rush into a wall, as it dropped AoEs as part of the rush, and they’d all stack in the same spot. This would deal insane amounts of damage to any foe standing in the spot. This got nerfed after a couple years.

Even without FGS, most groups used to pull to that corner by the stairs, as keeping the group stacked in melee range would prevent her from using the poison spit attack. This has also changed, and she’ll spit the poison AoEs in melee range now.

So yeah…don’t use FGS, and fight her in the open. Something like Ice Bow 5, 4, 3, then a staff DPS rotation should do the trick.

And BTW, the FGS/stack combo was considered ‘legit’. ArenaNet never punished anyone for using them or said anything about it. It was more of a “bad design” issue than an exploit. It was even used in the DnT dungeon tournament to excess, which probably prompted ArenaNet to finally fix it.

So this is the precedent for the lupi change — I’d completely forgotten about it.

Using Earth Elemental makes SQ cheese-mode, she will prioritize everything on the elemental while you nuke her with staff.

There are plenty of solo videos on youtube which should show all the tricks.
