AC Graveling Scavengers Post Jan. 28th
I’ve not noticed any real change to the scav’s behavior, even when running the scepter pieces.
Main: Caeimhe – Sylvari Ranger
Alts: Charr Guardian, Asura Elementalist, Human Thief, Norn Necromancer
Scavengers hitting you from way outside of their melee range has always been the norm, its dumb do i just stay away from them if you don’t have stability, unless its the kind that removes boons.

We’re aware of the issue and working on it, as well as a few other graveling related issues.

Not just outside the apparent range, but even the wrong direction. Sometimes you’re standing behind the scavengers and they knock you down. It’s as if the model is being drawn in one place (and facing one way) but the server thinks the scavenger is somewhere else. It’s been like that since release (in fact, since beta).
It probably happens with other creatures, too, it’s just more obvious with the scavengers due to the stun (which, BTW, doesn’t appear to have a cooldown; sometimes they re-stun players even before the previous stun is over).
As far as I know, each “bite” applies the Stun over and over again.
Do you even lift, bro?
They are attacking people from across the room at times, 600-1200+ range away.

Ah, weird. Didn’t have this problem since the recent patch. Well, I hope they fix it.
Thats why Hogdkins calls them Wretched Graveling Scavangers!
I reported on this a long time ago but it got buried—based on the screenshot the leap attack extends in a cone of about range 600 out from the Scavenger’s original position. In the screenshot in my link the scavenger was immobilized, but the attack hit and defeated me anyway.

Honestly these things kitten me off lol. My thief has no problem, just a quick shadow step and voila. my necromancer on the other hand…i get tackeled then due to lack of stun break i pop death shroud to absorb the damage but they literally eat right through it and finish me off >.<

You need a flesh wurm.
wonder if they are workin on when scavs dive at you, you dodge it and they proceed to munch on the ground where as if you walk into them as they continue to do this animation for 8-10 seconds you either get knocked down and/or start taking damage as if they had pounced on you.
these things are ‘new player killers’ alot of new players i take into dungeons just get devoured by these guys, yes i know l2dodge but srsly, no mob before 30 teaches them this as quickly as this guy does.

Yeah, l2dodge is one thing, but that animation really doesn’t adequately warn the player that they will be repeatedly knocked down. It’s a buggy attack with poor visual cues.

Graveling Scavengers are the most annoying and overpowered trash mob in the game. What other mob can jump you and defeat in seconds with no recourse if you have no stun-breaker out of cooldown? It’s like they put them in out of perverse motive to frustrate players and make them mad.

Is a stun break even worth using? I’ve never used one for that but I have been knocked over, after the knockdown wears off I get back up but then immediately get knocked down since they are still munching. I expect something similar to happen with a stun breaker, excluding things like lightning flash, shadowstep and blink since those are also teleports.
