Some of my guildmates are doing AC story and they are saying that in the fight against the lovers, the boulders are disappearing after being thrown at one or the other, most likely Vassar. Is this supposed to be happening now? Originally you could just continually throw a boulder at him and run up, pick it up, dodge his counterattack when he gets up from a knock-back, and re-throw. What’s up with this?

I noticed it too. I think it’s a way to stop the ridiculous boulder spam that a group could do, which made the boss fights too easy. 2 people could be on boulder duty and the boss couldn’t even get up, leaving the other 3 to roll their faces across their keyboard.

I have been seeing this in Ac since the patch, it’s prolly intentional. However, they don’t seem to reset anymore if you pull them into the hall between them and the Necro boss before, that hall has pressure switches for the door, you can separate them, someone kites one into the hall and shuts the door trapping one away from the other. We did this today with all of us in the hall by accident, someone picked up the boulder on the pressure plate nearest their room, and we trapped the female, killed her, opened the door and went to kill the male. Or 1 in the hall with her and the other 4 in the main arena to kill him first, either way.

You can also clear both hallways to the lovers then kite 1 to the lower hallway then back up the cathedral hallway and then fight he other one. As long as you don’t get to close, the other one should stay in the lower hall and you won’t need the door trick. You can leave a tank in the lower hall or a ranged to make sure Vassar or Ralena stay there too. They leash around the entrance to the lower door way.

One warrior with a little survivability can tank the woman alone. Just smack her and run off behind one of the coffins so she follows you away from the man. Dodge her red circle move and the rest of her damage is piddly. If it’s a low dps group, I even kill her before they finish the man.
