AC exp of the new generation
ill give you the answer for “wtf”, “skip” etc. i am raider in wow, in semihardcore guild, and have done hard encounters, had countless number of wipes etc.
BUT the the dificulty and unforgivness of dungeons, is just ABSURD. i playing necromancer, am ~47lvl, have proper gear for my lvl. tried both dps gear and tank gear. It is ridiculious, when random mob 1shots, 2 shots, stuns till death, traps 1shot, in order to dodge circle underyourself you must move non-stop or its unavoidable(event boss), there is sleak chance on ressing party member.
I mean its just simply soooo insinely hard, that i have no will to do dungeons anymore, because some stuff just looks undoable, unforgivable, fustrating, depresing. And i am very used to countless wipes and hard content. And yes for example me myself got no time for countless tries, getting 1shoted when mob focuses me.

No offense, but you exaggerate greatly. Dungeons are nowhere near the way you describe it. I personally find them too easy, except 2 or 3 Paths.
I understand the skipping though, people run the dungeons for money/tokens.
Why not skip mobs that do not drop anything, but increase the time per run?
That being said, if I run with my group, we speed run to make it interesting.
If I PUG, I always ask: Do you want to speed run or kill everything?
Most of the time we speed run, but well, as I was saying, kind of understandable.
i did ac story, and had a try on ac p1, and also another second dungeon i could for my lvl. also few event bosses.
no offense taken, but it is what i have experienced so far.
dont get me wrong, i am no gw2 hater. , i love the game but apart of what i have mentioned above.
You seriously need experience, dungs aren’t open world pve. After a while they’re super easy.
Bunch´em up, burn´em down. Trash in this game is a joke due to all the debuffs/buffs you can add to your group.

i do need experience, but there is all the fun.
however i didnt say dungeons are world pve. i just sayd what i have done so far. ac/another dungeon/world pve event bosses(dont know how u call them).
I will give you that, normal mobs in AC have quite good damage, combined with your probably not even close to perfect profession composition and your low level it might become quite ugly
Just because dungeons are possible to complete if you have the required level to enter, does not mean it will be a joyride.
The OP sounds like a “new” player making a post because he had no idea what to do in an exploration run, got left behind, and died. Even without skipping, there’s no excuse for dying that many times. You aren’t supposed to die in (most) dungeons. Can’t remember the last time I wiped.
NOTE: Bosses did not give trophies up until a few weeks ago. Only completing the dungeon did. Don’t know how killing a boss “back in the day” would help you get a weapon/armor set. Also probably worth noting that it’s near impossible to complete a run without your bag overflowing with items, assuming you know enough to use omnomberry bars, even when skipping parts.
Then there should be warning telling that, recomended dungeon lvl is 80, as there is sucha warning in atleast personal quest. many misunderstanding and fustration would be avoided.

Actually at the very start of the game, boss chests did drop the dungeon tokens. It was the only way to get them. Skipping kholer meant losing out on dungeon tokens.
I tell my groups to not skip Kohler or any boss as I’m trying to get as much tokens and money out of the dungeons and their bosses as possible, and Kohler is easy to beat with the walls in his way. Also If you can get the troll to fight Kohler, the troll will win almost every time. We usually use range to tag both the troll and Kohler and get both prizes from them simultaneously.
um.. I’m “old” player, and I got 99% of the sets I want from this dungeon. I just want to have fun doing the dungeon, but skipping to me is no fun at all.
I can’t believe these many people still saying Kohloer is OP.
Have you been in CoE with Alpha?
My point is this new “skip” trend pretty much prevents me to do AC exp for now.

Exactly, people only fight Kohler when troll is there.

What are you talking about?
Kholer is easy, just dodge when you see his sword shine – that’s when he’s about to pull you to him and spin.
If you can dodge that, he’s a piece of cake. He barely does damage with is normal attack.
This is the first dungeon many of us went through. I used to farm every possible weapon set for my main. Thank god I did that early!! The “new generation” is just so sad in my opinion. 99% of the groups now skip Kohler for whatever reasons they can think of. I remembered used to die 10+ times, but still manage to finish him. It’s not that long, it’s not that hard, and I enjoy fighting him. I was with a group that decide to take on Kolher. One ele still complained about not skipping. Even though we got him down to 30%, one guy said his guild is calling him (WTF?) and left. The other three players then left immediately.
In the previous runs, I had a group that skipped every possible gravelings, and left them beat the crap out of me because I have to rez and run back.
I suppose “skip” and “dying is intolerable” are the new trend of dungeon play?
The most ridiculous answer is “I don’t have time.” If you don’t have time, why are you playing?
I know, it’s sad, what a pug/organized group was at beginning, fighing hard and giving when completed the sense of accomplishment ( forging my arah armor for example, before cheats/ exploits/ skip all adds run was spreading) was a real enjoyment, and made me meet great players i kept into friendlist (sadly 90% of them left the game after geargrind update, with the common answer "we have way better mmos out if i have to waste my time geargrinding and dealing with " i’ m a pro shush you noobs with exotic gear, get your ring before join i leave this group, not even respecting our arah armor or dungeon master title" kind of kiddo players, and i’m done with this game exploit-based" ).
Why this kind of players still play and exploit/abuse/skip everything? I have no idea, but one thing i know for sure: if they do it, it’s just thanks to anet releasing bugged/exploitable ( not fixed) content allowing it. How many times i asked to close doors in arah forever, so you’re forced to kill all adds and door protectors before advance, the end of speedfarm? AC, same. Doors everywhere to put an end to speedfarms/skip. Was it fixed? Nah.

Ye, generation. Prelaunch players wasn’t using any skipall/cheat/exploits. Wasn’t popular at all, people was actually “playing” the content. The 3 months later player is just an exploiter. And an old school player is a boring whiner, kicked or shush and exploit/skip all with others.
Totally agree with the OP. Besides havent even meet a mob in this game i would call a "boss"yet; dungeons are way to eazzy.
Kholer can splatter an entire party in a single round of his AoE pull – spin-o-doom. If you fight him, its high risk / medium reward (the new bag + a chest) and very time consuming even in a good group. If you skip him, you can complete the entire dungeon in half the time for each path. You also don’t risk the breakdown of a group that wipes multiple times at the first challenge.
That said, I generally go along with whatever the group I’m in wants to do. I’ve been in groups that took down Kholer no problem, and I’ve been in groups where nothing I tried to tell them was getting through. Heck, I had one group who got the troll to fight him and still end up wiping (because they decided to help Kholer kill the troll).
shrugs
It’s not like any real people died, and I tend to find great humor in watching people melt down. So, for me, it’s a win no matter what happens.
But here’s my body – So rez me maybe?
kholer takes like 5 mins to kill, even with pugs. His attack is telegraphed for ages. He holds his sword above his head and charges it up, giving people plenty of time to hit dodge. Not only this, but many classes have extra skills to counter it. Feedback, shield of the avenger, aegis, any form of block skill. Even when I take people who have no idea what’s going on, takes me like 30 seconds to explain to them and they are fine.
This fight is not hard.
People who want to skip it because it’s ‘too hard.’:
You are basically telling me right then and there, that the rest of this dungeon is going to feel like pulling teeth. I honestly think colossus is harder simply because there are less skills to counter his special if you (once again) fail to avoid it.
People who want to skip it to save time-
How much time are you really saving?
You also get a shot at a rare.. yes, that chest has rares in it.. rares that can be turned into ectos..I’d happily take that gamble for 5 mins worth of work… in fact it can be done in even less. and it spawns a waypoint which you can then use to save yourself running back up through the fire on the Hodgins path.
People who want to Troll vs. Kholer: I don’t need to explain why that’s just stupid.
The way I see it: At least give it a try, just go in and see. if your team for whatever reason cant take it.. just WP and skip.. but at least give it a go, you may be surprised by how quick and easy it is.
By all means if people want to skip it go ahead..but what I tire of is forming up a dungeon group, taking the time to get people and going in.. and then getting yelled at for wanting to do kholer. I never tell people I’m skipping, but they just assume I am and get mad when I dont. I now have to tell people before going in that I’m not skipping him.. and half of them leave which I think is a real pity considering my runs are always very fast.
I feel like alot of people I take in there who want to skip have bad memories from the launch days when they were on thier 35’s in trash gear and had no idea what the attacks did. That’s perfectly fine, but I advise you give it another go now, it’s much easier.

Pretty bold statement. I remember how almost every pug I played with wanted to skip this and this. Lets not forget about cof speedrun and arah shard runs.
Back to the topic, Kholer takes about 2 minutes max for average pug I’ve been in. And he drops some money, karma plus silver. There’s really no reason to skip him now.
Ye was a bit before the shardrun exploded. Still, i was playing the entire content during that period too, leading the shardfarm group to continue, reassuring them there was more fun later. Some discovered lupicus and how hard that fight would be ( no wp tricks was know). Some of them was talented players, we beated lupicus plently times, commenting “jeez i didn’t knew about this boss i was just shardfarming, so fun”.
Old good days now gone.
And yes, kholer is easy and fast, most pug skip it because they know they are just a fail at him hiding after a finger " i don’t have time for it".

Well, whenever I enter the instance first, I will lure the kholer to my pug so they have to fight him

This is most important part. Just look at Boss and react when this animation apears. You can doge it or just buff yourself with stability. Its that easy.
@swiftpaw.6397
Im in AC every day from 20h CET, so whisper me if you need ppl =)

I remember a guy doing it. Refuge asap, everyone moving, typing “who is the idiot pulling him”?
